If you working in the residential or commercial space, The book is a necessity for a practicing Structural Engineer.

I’ve only gotten into 10% of the book but my it’s highly impressive. This book goes into great detail about designing wood structures. Finnaly a book that me and my university can agree on with a good foundation.

As a structural engineer just getting into the field, this book definitely helped me understand visually what lateral forces are and an in-depth guide to some lateral force resisting systems (including diaphragms and shear walls). I don’t even work with wood structures, and I feel a lot more knowledgeable about LFRS after picking up this book. Thanks!

This textbook is much more useful than most of my engineering texts. This one is actually a keeper! There are lots of examples that walk you through the all intricate and convoluted details of designing with wood.

I liked the details and visual images in this text. The organization is very well also.

This is the best reference for wood design. Covers how to design (including how to calculate lateral loads per 2018 IBC, 2018 NDS, and ASCE 7-16). Also shows how to design several items pertaining to wood design (e.g., WSP shear walls, wood beams, wood columns)

Easy to read e-book
