This is a fantastic product. The speed of delivery was great. I had a broken head on my trimmer, so I needed a quick purchase. This got to me very fast, and it was easy to install. The item was an exact match, fits properly, and functions just as the old one did. I am back up and running. I would absolutely order from this seller again.

Rapid load head makes it much easier to reload new trimmer line. Removed the old head and installed this one and it fit perfectly. Tested the string trimmer with this new head and it works as expected. Can't ask for more. This will add years to this old EGO string trimmer. Was considering buying a new trimmer just because reloading trimmer line was so painfully difficult and a time consuming process. No tools were included. You will need a small socket set. The old head was SAE 7/16 deep socket and the new head is metric 13mm standard socket with an extension. At least, that's what worked for me.

I ordered this as a replacement head for my ST1500SF (split shaft 15" trimmer) because my original head was causing significant vibration during use. I suspect it was because of hitting the string release against the pavement over time, which ground off enough plastic to throw the head out of balance. This new design has a free-floating disc to hit when extending the line, which hopefully preserves the useful lifespan of the part. The head is not considered a warrantiable part of the tool, so Ego will not offer to cover a replacement (this isn't a knock against Ego, just be aware). This head is definitely compatible with the ST1500SF, and it is a "revised" part to the original AH1500, but there are a couple things to be aware of. My original head had the green marks that you needed to line up when reloading string. My original head was attached with a 9/16" nut that requires a deep-well socket to remove due to the deisgn of the nut. You can get it off with a rachet or an impact wrench, but you have to hold the body of the existing head in place. Once you remove the old head, leave the flat gray flange in-place on the spindle of the motor. I also kept the small metal washer that was on the original head, but the instructions for the new head do not mention this at all. When you affix the new head, it's a 1/2" nut that you can use a regular-depth socket on. It's a bit tricky to get the nut started by hand because of the plastic body of the head being so close, but use some patience and be sure to get a few rotations by hand to avoid any chance of cross-threading. I would not suggest using a power tool off the bat. You can then finish off with either an impact wrench or a ratchet, again while holding the plastic body to tighten it. The new head is slightly harder to split open by pushing the tabs in, but generally you should not have to do this regularly. Otherwise it operates as deisgned and is quite a bit easier to load new string. Hopefully the free-floating disc in the middle keeps this one going longer than the original.

Works better than the original one that came with the machine

As a big fan of EGO products (mower, blower, etc.), I needed this upgrade for my ST1502SF trimmer. My old head lasted 7 years, and this new one is a huge improvement. Installation was simple and, best of all, it no longer requires a deep socket wrench for removal. The Rapid Reload feature is the real reason to get this. It's so much easier to load than lining up the old, rubbed-off lines. The only small hiccup was that the included twisted-pair string was hard to wind and didn't tap out easily. I suspect it will work perfectly with standard single-strand line. Bottom Line: A much-needed and easy-to-install upgrade. Highly recommended for any compatible EGO trimmer owner.

works great to replace my EGO trimmer head. Easy to install and works well. Easy to bump out more string when needed. note: There is a small nut needed for installation that is included but when you open the blister pack, it is easy to lose the nut.

I purchased this as my original head was no longer working. I was able to turn it manually for a while but eventually that stopped working. This one is DOA, but I can at least turn it to unwind the string as needed. I didn't think it was worth returning since when I called about the original head failing, even though the box the trimmer came in said 5 year warranty, they only warranty this part for 90 days. Just goes to show they aren't very confident in this product. Update: Today it won't even let me unwind the cord manually. It was defective right out of the box. My confidence with their products, and support, were pretty low so I thought I'd just deal with it. Now the head only turns in the winding direction. I regret buying this string trimmer. This will be my last EGO purchase.

Great price for this replacement head. Very easy to install and it comes with more string which was nice. It fits my EGO string trimmer perfectly with no adjustments. I had it replaced and ready to go in a matter of minutes. The quality is very good, but I usually tap it on grass or dirt, not concrete to let out more string. This makes it last longer.
