Corelle Vitrelle 78-Piece Service for 12 Dinnerware Set, Triple Layer Glass and Chip Resistant, Lightweight Round Plates and Bowls Set, Splendor

We got this Corelle 12 piece set to replace an old dish set that had the glaze worn and faded after many years. The old set was sturdy, but the design was mostly gone on many of the pieces. The Corelle set is very smooth and the designs look great. We were very pleased to see that our service for 12 actually takes up much less space in our cupboard than the old service for 8. The Corelle dishes are very thin and light, so it's easy to carry around 6-8 plates in one hand. I could never do that with the old set. The soup bowls each came with a lid. At first, we didn't think they would be useful, but we've found them to be very helpful. Many of our dinners are served in a bowl, and we just have to put a lid on each bowl to store the leftovers. A small piece of masking tape on each lid with initials, and we're set. There are also two larger serving bowls in the set, also with lids. Great value, very compact, and much cheaper than replacing our stone ware!

We used this set to replace an older ceramic set. This set is SO much lighter. While the plates, honestly, don't feel strong, they certainly are. And they are supposed to be nearly indestructible - not that we go around dropping or throwing our plates around. There were three sizes of plates and four sizes of bowls. Lids came with the small and medium bowls too. The pattern and colors were nice as well.

My old dishes would get super hot in the microwave long before the food did. You couldn't really reheat coffee safely. Even though they said microwave safe. So I was looking for a set that doesn't get hot in the microwave. These are great. The plates are actually glass like the turntable in your microwave. It just doesn't get hot from microwaves. The food does conduct heat and the plates are very thin, so they will get somewhat hot, but manageable. These dishes take up half the space my old dishes did. I have a small kitchen so space is always at a premium. The rubber caps for the soup bowls and quart sizes fit really snug and are very convenient. Over all they are very practical, and they look great. My only possible regret is that I like the square plates better, but they didn't offer them in a 78 piece set. These plates arrived before New Years, So I was able to smash my old dishes with my family for New Years. It was a blast. I'll post pictures later

Exactly what we expected, very nice design, lots of place settings, serving dishes, lids for all the larger and soup bowls. Really good quality, space saving and ease of use/clean up is great

I received my first set of Corelli dishes at my wedding in 1988! I just donated my heavier set of Corelle, after I purchased this new set. Corelle will last forever as you can see. I just wanted a lighter set, brighter set- after 36 years don’t you think I was entitled? Lol I absolutely love the fun, bright pattern on my new dishes and received an awesome deal! If you are sick of chipping dishes, Corelli will last you decades. I am proof of it and I have a 24 yr old, nonverbal autistic son!

This Corelle set of service for 12 is an excellent value. Includes 5 size items items for each of 12 dinners, plus some covers to turn the soup bowls into storage bowls, plus serving bowls. Can not rate durability yet, only 4 weeks old. Very light weight. I just hope this lasts a long time as other Corelle items have.

Corelle is an excellent product - durable, diverse set of plates and bowls, and attractive. Though we plan to keep this 12 piece set, the red design on two of the dinner plates appeared to be lighter than the rest. Also, there were a few marks on the bottoms of two mid-sized serving bowls. Neither of these issues are enough to cause us to return the item - but Corelle's manufacturing quality control could be a bit better.

I've had my existing Corelle dishware since 1985. These new dishes are considerably lighter and thinner than the older ones. Maybe that has something to do with the change in their warranty? My old ones came with a life-time warranty against breaking and chipping. In fact, we had to replace 1 bowl some years ago and Corelle was wonderful -- even though it was a discontinued pattern, they found it for us. On the one hand, I like the lighter weight (arthritis) and the thinner profile (doesn't stack nearly as high, requires less height) -- on the other hand, I'm concerned these may not be as durable or sturdy. Only time will tell.

Dishes arrived on day promised. Shipping packageing was superb. Dishes all intact and blemish free. Pattern colour vibrant. So pleased with the lightweight and space saving. Lids for bowls fit perfect. Highly recommend.
