what size is the cooking area?

The cooking area is about 15x10 in which is more than adequate for me and my wife/ friendsI can grill almost anything without having to deal with weather conditions.Its great with miminalpreperation and cook time. I'd recommend it anyone who loves the taste of grilled food without the hassle

the removable grill plate has plug in attached. Is it ok to get that wet when cleaning

Yes the booklet says it can be washed, the only thing you can't wash is the base it plugs into. However I don't put mine in the dishwasher and when I wash it I don't let it sit in water. Like my old George Foreman I find its easier to clean if I put wet paper towels on the grills surface while its still hot and shut the lid, this steams off a lot of the baked on marinade I use...
