Orbit 51029 Brass Quick Coupler Sprinkler Valve, 3/4 in FPT, Underground Irrigation

Worked like a charm to connect to a Turfgro 3/4 inch Quick Coupler Valve to do a sprinkler winterizarion. Prefer this model because of the removable T bar. Our valve is in a casing too narrow to use the T bar, so if it was permanently fixed, it wouldn’t work for us.

Warning...this is a I/2 inch valve key with a 3/4 inch thread on top. The description should say 1/2” not 3/4”. But it is a fine valve for the price if you have a 1/2” insert to use it on.

Well made and very functional... now with a possible upgrade? I bought one of these on Amazon 2 years ago to install near my kids' raised garden so they wouldn't have to drag the heavy hose out there all the time. It worked out great and has done fine over the years. I installed it underground within a round box, so it's well protected; therefore, I can't comment as to the durability to external forces. I just ordered a second one to install elsewhere in my yard, and I see that the cover is now made of brass -- the old one is made of a flexible plastic (almost rubbery). It seems like the old plastic cover would do better to keep out debris since it has a large lip that goes down around the valve. Although, I can see the metal cover probably being more durable and do better against external forces, which would probably be good if you just install it in the open (not in a buried box). I'm thinking of installing this new valve without a box (almost flush with the ground), and if I do, I will be sure to update this review after a year or so to see how well it holds up.

It works. If only they would send me the size that's listed on the specs for hight. It says 10.13 inches, but i keep getting one that's 6 inches

Given the price it's good. These things get really hefty price tags... And this one works as well.. no leaks. Seems durable. I use it for work and it installs quickly.
