BaByliss MEN Japanese Steel Stubble and Beard Trimmer

Speedy delivery. As advertised, itx brand new. Hubby says lightweight to hold . It's easy to use and does the job smoothly. Value gor money is very good compared to similar sellers.

After trying various stubble and beard trimmers, I think this one is up there with some of the best. It has a really slim form factor which makes it feel more like you’re shaving with a razor than any others I’ve seen. The shave position is a little odd as it feels like you’re shaving using it the wrong way round, but that’s what you need to do to take advantage of the multi height trimming tool. It’s lost a star for not having a USB-C charging port which means yet another charging wire type to have laying around. The travel bag that comes with is a nice touch, though it’s about three times bigger than it needs to be for it to be travel friendly/useful. Very good device for under £25 and superior to others of much higher cost.

I've bought various beard trimmers over time and they've varied in useability. My current one was a Braun and whilst it was OK, the length adjustment was in increments of 2mm and I couldn't achieve the ideal length for my close-trimmed goatee. Plus the distance comb was cumbersome and overall the trimmer was clumsy to use. The BaByliss is a delight to use and being slender, and with an uncluttered integral adjustable cutting guard it enables finely detailed, precision trimming. The length adjustment increases in 0.5mm increments, the cutting teeth are very fine, and it trims my beard very evenly. Cleaning is easy as the adjustable cutting guard assembly pops off with a light touch and everything can be rinsed under the tap. As always I perused the negative reviews, but from buying and using this trimmer for a while I can't relate to any of the criticisms. I now can't imagine using any other trimmer. Highly Recommended!

Quite possibly the worst trimmer ever made. The flex in the head means the lengths are completely off. 12 mm does nothing. Turning down to 9mm starts trimming and even then it’s not guaranteed. Awful. Just awful. I know it’s cheap. And there’s a reason.

It works alright not the best

This BaByliss beard trimmer requires almost the same care and attention that a wet shave would demand. Get the angle and the pressure right and it delivers. Start with selecting the correct length setting, too high at first, then work back to shorter until it's right for you. The well protected blades are sharp, the motor is powerful and should last a couple of hours on a single short charge. Cleaning is something else again. 'Fiddly' would be a reasonable description, requiring the removal of both the comb guide and the blade unit itself. Despite all that, this is a class act and I doubt you would regret the highish purchase price. To summarise, it takes a bit of getting used to, but it's certainly very much worth the effort.

Works well. Battery lasts for ages, sorry unable to quantify, doesn't scrape or hurt like the cheaper models (even one handed!) Would recommend.

I have had a couple of philips and Panasonic beard trimmers prior to this. The reason I bought this was due to my 5 year old philips one developing a battery issue which required charging prior to each use to kickstart it. This performs better than any of them ever did. The dial is simple to use, the 0.5 increments are very convenient, and I really like the colour / lightness. I'm not sure how durable the dial mechanism will be, if you press hard the length adjustment decreases. I have learnt to not press into my beard to prevent this. I can't swivel it to use a smaller head like my Panasonic beard trimmers, but this doesn't matter much. I prefer the sharpness / performance of this beard trimmer. It cuts very evenly and can produce excellent results.
