Turkish Apricot Large 5 Lb Bulk Bag

I was somewhat hesitant after reading some of the reviews that stated the bag of apricots had arrived open or made someone ill, but I'm pleasantly satisfied with my purchase for sure. The bag was totally sealed, the apricots were soft and flavorful, and they arrived quickly. I used these apricots to make baby food for my daughter and WHOA it yielded so much food! Plain apricot puree was one of my favorites as a kiddo but it's become a lot harder to find over the years, so I decided to make my own.To make the baby food, I ran hot water into a large bowl and soaked 1 lb of apricots overnight, stirring two or three times when I got up for MOTN feedings. I added the apricots to a steam basket and poured the soaking water into the pot, steamed the apricots for about 15-20 minutes, and then poured the 'cots and some of the soaking water into my Vitamix. Pureed for 25 seconds and voila! The absolute BEST apricot baby food I have ever tasted! My daughter is gonna have to fight me for it!

These fruit are real beauties. The fruit are large and in very good condition with fresh looking color. They are whole, moist but not sticky with a lovely sweet flavor. I plan to use some for chocolate covered holiday fruit. It's difficult to find fruit large enough to make generous looking holiday treats so I will be ordering more and having fun adding chopped nuts and other candied fruit to decorate.

Dried apricots are a big favorite of mine and this is a repeat order from the seller. With a higher amount of potassium compared to fresh, plus they taste great. My local chain grocery store carries a commercial 2.5 pound resealable bag for around $15. This 5 pound bag came in at just under $20. Double the product for just $5 more, in a see through resealable bag too. If you like apricots, you have to try these!

The apricots themselves are excellent. The only problem I had is with the packaging. They come in a bag with a zip lock reseal able bag but when the product was packaged it was heat sealed so close to the zip strip that it could not be opened without a scissors and even then the zip strip had to be cut to open the package so it was essentially useless. With such a large amount of the product in the bag it really needs some kind of working seal to maintain the freshness. I repackaged mine in my own working zip lock bags. Excellent value and taste even if you have to repackage after you open the bag.

Five pounds of orange sweet goodness. I read the reviews and took a chance. I must have got a really good bag. These apricots were sweet and tender. In fact I had to take the bag and put it out of sight, so I wouldn,t eat too many. Chopped them up and put them in muffins. Peanut butter and apricot sandwich. Had them in salads. And the list goes on. I used to eat these as a kid, my siblings didn't like them so more for me. Will be ordering again when I run out.

No complaints

I have been buying these apricots for several years and have been very pleased with their taste and large size. Today my 5 pound package arrived. It was in a different design and the apricots were MUCH smaller and less flavorful. It was a big disappointment. I will do more research and order from another source.

These are real good and fresh. Love them!
