Product Description Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is an upstanding family man whose wife and daughter are brutally murdered during a home invasion. When the killers are caught, Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), a hotshot young Philadelphia prosecutor, is assigned to the case. Over his objections, Nick is forced by his boss to offer one of the suspects a light sentence in exchange for testifying against his accomplice. Fast forward ten years. The man who got away with murder is found dead and Clyde Shelton coolly admits his guilt. Then he issues a warning to Nick: Either fix the flawed justice system that failed his family, or key players in the trial will die. Soon Shelton follows through on his threats, orchestrating from his jail cell a string of spectacularly diabolical assassinations that can be neither predicted nor prevented. Philadelphia is gripped with fear as Shelton's high-profile targets are slain one after another and the authorities are powerless to halt his reign of terror. Only Nick can stop the killing, and to do so he must outwit this brilliant sociopath in a harrowing contest of wills in which even the smallest misstep means death. With his own family now in Shelton's crosshairs, Nick finds himself in a desperate race against time facing a deadly adversary who seems always to be one step ahead. desertcart.com The legal thriller meets the serial-killer shocker in Law Abiding Citizen. The story begins when home invaders kill Clyde Shelton's wife and daughter. The bereaved father (played by a thoroughly unsympathetic Gerard Butler) looks to slick Philly prosecutor Nick Rice (a low-key Jamie Foxx) to see that they receive the maximum sentence. Instead, the murderer, Ames, testifies against his accomplice, Darby, who gets the chair, while he gets 10 years. Upon his release, Ames' mutilated body turns up in an abandoned warehouse, and all roads lead to Shelton. Rice attempts to defend him, but his client makes it impossible--Shelton wants to go to prison--so he does time, but then members of Rice’s legal team start to die. The attorney suspects Shelton, but can't connect him to the crimes, so he races against the clock to save the lives of his assistant, Sarah (Leslie Bibb), D.A. Jonas (Bruce McGill), and his own wife and child. The movie may sound like a Yank reboot of the Japanese chiller Cure, in which an inmate kills from inside institutional walls, but plays more like a mash-up between The Silence of the Lambs, without the psychological complexity, and The Devil's Advocate, without the cynical giggles. F. Gary Gray got his start with hip-hop videos and urban action flicks, like Set It Off, until he hit the big time with his remake of The Italian Job. Law Abiding Citizen is a disappointing muddle from a director who's done better in the past and will surely do better in the future. --Kathleen C. Fennessy Stills from Law Abiding Citizen (Click for larger image) Review: A man seeks vengeance on the murderers of his wife and child and the legal system that lets the criminals negotiate a plea deal! - This a good film that is full of suspense. It features a great cast that plays their roles to perfection. It is extremely gruesome so be prepared for that aspect of the film. This review contains spoilers. It is a story about a father whose wife and child are murdered and brutalized in front of him. The real criminal gets off with a light sentence by arranging a deal with a prosecutor that is more interested in his trial win record than in real justice. Unfortunately, he made an enemy with the father who is a very dangerous man. A very dangerous man! Gerard Butler plays the father and he takes 10 years to plan his payback for all of those involved in the travesty of the trial and conviction of the criminals that murdered his family. He not only wants the criminals to pay painfully but also all of the people involved with the trial. He wants the injustice of the legal system exposed and he will go to any extreme necessary to show the public what has happened and what is wrong with the legal system. Gerald Butler and Jamie Fox play great mental adversaries in the film. Clyde Shelton, Gerald Butler, is a master CIA assassin that specialized in exotic, hands off, remote murder of CIA targets. Nick Rice, Jamie Fox, is the District Attorney who negotiated the plea deal and now he faces the challenge of out thinking Clyde Shelton. This is a very good film with a lot of action and twists in the plot. It is well worth watching. I rated it 5 stars I purchased the BluRay version of the film that comes with 2 discs. Disc One is the unrated Director’s cut with behind the scenes action and movie details. Disc Two is the theatrical cut of the film with optional audio commentary. I also converted the film to VUDU HDX digital format to allow me to stream it to my digital hardware and to my digital projector. This is a good film and it worth watching. I am glad that it is in my library of films that I own. Review: A good movie that you've missed... - Grab it while you can, it's really a good movie, maybe the movie title misleading you as a normal thrill until I saw it on TV, and I was thinking how could I miss the boat ? I collect movie, specially steelbook which I think if the movie is worth it. I love it.

Thriller starring Gerard Butler as Clyde Shelton, an ordinary family man whose life is blown apart when his wife and daughter are brutally murdered during an attack on their home. When a plea bargain sets his family's killers free, Shelton sees no choice but to take the law into his own hands, and in the name of justice he embarks on a killing spree that only one man can bring an end to: Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), the assistant district attorney who brokered the deal. Taut, tense and violent story of revenge. Excellent imho.
