Wow! The suction!
This vacuum has great power for a cordless. I have an LG that can't compare to the suction of this Bissell. All the attachments have headlights, so you can really see where the dirt/dust is! I think in the past I've been missing a lot of debris because it's hard to see without a direct light on it. Even the tight crevice attachment has a light! This model does not have a removable battery like some of the others do, but it has much higher power watts (700), which is more important to me. It performs pretty well when gliding along wall line - leaves a little behind right against the wall. Attachments go on and off very easily. I guess the only negative I could find so far is that if you have a deep pile carpet, it might be hard to use. I used it on wood floors and it's terrific. I used it on a low pile rug and it was a little hard to move around. Maybe I could lower the power to the lowest setting for easier movement, but then I'd worry I'm not getting a deep clean. Overall, for a cordless, this is terrific! I'm buying another to keep on the second floor!

Awesome vacuum!
I bought this on recommendation from another pet owner, who said it's his favorite vacuum. Now it's MINE! I have a carpeted staircase with no electric outlets on it, and two cats and a dog. It was a real hassle to vacuum the stairs with a full-size vac until I found this one. The charge is long-lasting, the head doesn't get choked from hair and fur, and it really deeply vacuums the carpet, unlike other stick vacuums. The other attachments are fantastic for tight spots and it's light enough to not break my back. I couldn't be happier with it!

Updated August 2020 - avoid this vacuum as it doesn't last...
Updated - Aug 2020I cannot recommend this vacuum anymore. It has too many issues with debris becoming clogged at the transitions between the components and just doesn't work good enough after 10 months of ownership.Vacuum developed an ever growing tear in the vacuum tube at the head causing most debris to get stuck there and preventing the rest of the vacuum from working. This was caused by NORMAL wear and tear in less than one year. I don't vacuum up glass or rocks - just pet hair and regular stuff. It is a the floppy head and it gets pressure put on it from moving the vacuum, but it really should last longer for the price. The vacuum itself is not easily cleaned and needs to be disassembled to get into all the nooks and crannies, but you'll end up spending more time cleaning your vacuum than vacuuming.Quite good if you have pets/doggos with longer hair.We have a border collie who sheds a bit, and tracks the outside dirt into the house.PROSRoller brush doesn't get clogged with pet hair. This is mostly due to how thick the brush roller is - our border collie dog hair will not wrap all the way around so it passes freely into the collecting chamber.Cordless and decent battery life - we can get most of the house swept up with one charge on full power. You can empty the canister without having to remove parts of the vacuum (this is an issue with the shark models). The bright LED headlights - I thought this was a throwback gimmick. But it functions so well - especially on hardwood. You can easily see where you need to vacuum, and where you have. You could easily vacuum in the dark, without power. It's almost fun to vacuum seeing how much visibly cleaner the floor is.CONSWill not stand on it's own, and falls on the ground while leaning.Fumbly and unsatisfying canister removal process. Sometimes it is easy, sometimes it is difficult. Not many markings to show button release, or portray information. It feels unweildly and cumbersome - you need to make sure you put the vacuum in a corner of a room or counter, because it will slide and fall.Clunky charging cord and a bit more space is required to store it, charge it, and access it. And if you don't want to drill holes in the wall for the wall hanging option - you will have to get used to the 'charging lean'...Fairly heavy - it can feel like you are shoveling snow if you go against the carpet grain. Not sure how fancy wood floors would hold up to the stiff brush, might scratch it, but if you can afford fancy floors you can probably afford a fancier Dyson vacuum. Will post updates as we use it more or if components fail. (Which they have)Collection squeegee on the canister is a blessing and a curse. On one hand, it clears off a lot of the dust and other crap that might clog the metal filter. But unfortunately hair has ended up under the rubber squeegee gasket and I don't see a way to clean that other than pulling hairs out one at a time (usually breaking them and then they end up under the squeegee forever), or getting a new canister. The tube connecting the head to the handle is Triangular. I don't know why - and I don't know why the back portion has the tip of the triangle - providing much less friction as it only connects to the resting surface in a tiny way. This make sit so you cannot rest it on anything with out it sliding and falling. I don't know why designers did not rotate the tube so it is flat on the back and it has more friction with a surface - or a rubber backing to help with this sliding problem?NotesI was hesitant because so many of the reviews were these "Vine Reviews" where they get the vacuum for free. Too many were positive and I do not trust that sort of marketing. This is why I am writing my own review - so others know real people purchased this product with their real money and I was happy enough with my purchase to rate this vacuum with a positive review. It was Purchased for $299 - and I feel at that price it was very much worth the price. For the $399 price - it seems a little underwhelming. I am mostly concerned about such a large price discrepancy for no reason listed (supply and demand, a sale, holiday pricing, etc). A product randomly fluctuates in price by $100 is crazy to me. That on top of how many versions there are now is a real bummer. We also tried the Shark X40 DuoClean cordless model, but it did not work well with long pet hair, it wrapped around the rolling brush and got stuck everywhere. We returned that and then tried this Bissell ICON and are much more happy with this Bissell.

4 years old and still going strong
My only complaint about this is that even brand new the battery runs out fairly fast. It’s strong and picks up everything my broom would normally miss, it’s easy to empty and to deep clean (which I just did for the first time in 4 years). Not meant to pick up big things though, it’s gotten clogged right where the hose bends a couple times. But no issue picking up regular messes and pet hair, I use it over tile where all the dust gets stuck on the grout, on hardwood, around the litterbox, on rugs- never had any issues doing its job. It is a little heavy, unfortunately there’s no convenient place for me to install the wall charger so it has to be wedged between things in just the right way because it slides and falls over easily. In a studio or small apartment this completely replaces a regular sized vacuum- just wished the battery lasted longer.
