Pentax 35 mm HD FA F2 Versatile Wide - Angle Lens

A nice fast lens for the Pentax K1, not too wide, not too long. A true walkaround lens. Works out about a 52mm lens on APS-C bodies so not as impressive. Image quality is top notch too.

Very soft on one side so decentered. Also soft wide open. Expected more for the price.

I have a large collection of Pentax and Takumar lenses. Pentax cameras and lenses have gotten very heavy lately which discourages me from taking the camera with me, thus I have ended up using my iPhone to get chance shots more often than I'd prefer. I like to use manual focus and the newer lenses have very stiff focus which is also geared for fast autofocus rather than accurate and pleasing manual focus use. This lens is a great antidote to these modern Pentax design issues. The size and weight is fantastic, it's sharp, it doesn't vignette much and it has great contrast with the modern coatings. I am carrying my camera more often and getting great images. I also really like the old classic 35mm f3.5 Takumar but I feel this is a modern version of that lens in terms of usage and quality. Highly recommended. Now if Pentax would just update the K1 with a plastic body to reduce the weight...

Possesseur de l'excellent modèle SMC sorti en 1999 , la version HD de ce 35mm f/2.0 affiche encore un meilleur contraste sur mon K-1 bien que globalement le piqué soit similaire sur les 2 exemplaires. De par sa nouvelle finition cosmétique, la bague de mise au point est plus agréable au toucher. Enfin, l'agréable surprise est venue du temps de réponse de l'autofocus qui s'avère vraiment, vraiment plus rapide bien que sa technologie soit encore de type "screw-drive".

This lens is super small, focuses reasonably well and has great colour rendition. It also has good sharpness but not great sharpness. For the price and the size, it is very good. You can get excellent photo results from this lens, especially taking photos outdoors. With a little bit of post photo editing, your photos can look professional.

Excellent Pentax glass. The sharpest glass I own from Pentax. The colors are truthful and vivid. If "straight out of camera", no post processing, is your thing, look no further.
