SABRENT [6-Pack] Premium 1FT & 3FT Micro USB Cables High Speed USB 2.0 [Black]

I purchased the 1ft cables for 1 reason, charge time, or voltage drop. In comparison to my 6 ft cable, my phone will charge in 1/2 to 1/3 the time, particularly when using a computer to charge the phone. When I use a wall, or car adapter it is not quite 1/3 charge time, more like 2/3 to 1/2 the charge time. Technical Details: With the 1 ft cable, the current has to travel 2 ft, 1 ft to the device, and 1 ft back + distance through the phone. With the larger than standard gauge wire, 22 AWG, it is 0.016 ohms per ft, if I am driving 2 Amps, that is a total voltage drop across the wire of 0.064 V, which means that with a 5 V supply, I am able to deliver 9.872 Watts to the device. On the other hand, for some other cables I own, they are 6 ft long, and 24 AWG, so a smaller wire diameter. If I were to run 2 amps across that wire, which has a total of 0.308 ohms of resistance, then I would have a 0.616 V drop, and see 4.384 V at the device, so 8.768 W. Likewise, the length with affect the inductance and capacitance of the cables. Since phones typically use pulses to charge them, in order to prevent over-charging, you encounter a wave more closely resembling a square wave. Since there is no such thing as a true square wave in real life, due to inductance and capacitance, you would see more of an exponential signal to a DC voltage, then an exponential drop off when the voltage is shut off. This too will become more exaggerated if the cable is longer, causing the signal to more resemble a sinusoidal signal. Since the increased resistance would actually cause the device to see less current as well, because the impedance would essentially slow the flow, the numbers in reality are different. It is sufficient to say that I have seen charge times of approximately 1/2 to 1/3 of what they were previously. As mentioned before, I noticed a significant difference when using a computer to charge the device, and not as significant of a difference when using a wall mounted power supply. The difference is likely due to the power supplies and their supply voltage, the wall supply may compensate for the voltage drop, or run at 0.25 V higher or so, I have not conducted tests on that yet.

This was a great order actually. At the time, it was on sale for only 6-7 dollars which is wonderful for 6 Perfect conditioned Micro-USB cables. I'm always having a hard time find some i have at home, which is why i purchased the pack. They charge perfectly fine, stay in the device well, never coming out unless removed by hand, not just falling out and what not and they work fantastic as back ups for when you cant find your own or left one somewhere, or ya know, when your buddy needs a charger and you only have one (sorry iPhone users). Also, I really liked the small Fold to close Black Box they came in, because it looks very sleek and nicely designed and works great to store the cables in. The cables themselves have Velcro straps on each of them for easy "fold and strap" concealment. Shouldn't need any new Micro - USB's for quite awhile thanks to this pack. Great buy for the price

Cables are cables, right? That's what I thought too until I got these. I was tired of dealing with the typical long USB cables, so I decided to get these short cables so I could plug things into my USB hub or laptop without having a mile of cable in the way. What I wasn't expecting was the high quality of these cables. They're thick. Just by eyeball I'd say 4 to 5 mm thick. Roughly 20-30% thicker than the typical USB cable. The connectors provide a solid and snug fit. No wiggling with these. Each cable also has its own little attached velcro strip so you can wrap them up in nice little bundles when you're not using them. And to top it all off, they don't come in some cheap plastic bag. They're in an attractive and sturdy black cardboard box. Sure, the box doesn't make the cables any better, but it does show the level of quality that Sabrent delivers. Oh, and one more thing...they're competitively priced! From my description, one might think these are high-priced, but they are very reasonable. I'd give them 6 stars if I could.

Wow, these cables really make a difference in charging speed! It would often take about 5 hours to charge my phone to 100% from 20% with minimal use with my old cable but with the Sabrent cable it takes just over 2 hours! They are a little thicker than the regular cables I normally use but the speed more than makes up for the slight bulk! LOVE them! **Update: A year later and 2 of the 6 cables are failing. For the failing cords, I’m having to jiggle them in order to ensure a connection. The cable I use daily, a 3 foot cord, no longer works for my phone no matter how I angle the cord although it still works on a few other devices, with some jiggling. The Sabrent cables I purchased the years prior did not have this issue. Unfortunately, those grew feet and walked off ... thus, the new set of cables.

I needed micro usb cables capable of carrying both data and power. If you haven't noticed, now days a cable may only carry one or the other. If you are using cheap, thin micro-usb cables from 10 years ago, you're bound to have an issue when you expect those cables to be capable of data and power. Do yourself a favor, recycle those puppies. It's time to upgrade! These are thick, well-shielded cables, and the connectors fit very well into the ports.

The cables seem to be of very good quality and come in a variety of lengths with the obligatory velcro cable ties attached. Can't really ask for more than that.

It is excellent value for money. The much higher quality is comparable to "fancy" brands, which cost double.

I was getting really fed up with 1m cables strewn over my workbench when the USB port was just a few centimetres away. They always get tangled up with my meter leads too. The photos show how wonderfully it all comes together now, with no excess cable to get in the way. And, should I ever need more length, I can always revert to the 1m lengths. I haven't tested how much power is allowed through these cables as that was not the focus of my purchase. But my Arduino is powered no trouble as the photos show. The seen well made with a hook-and-loop cable tidy included for each cable. For six cables I think this is money well spent and my workbench is a lot tidier with a lot less frustration from me!
