My son is learning to play chess and this is a moderately sized set. A plus is that it is magnetic and the pieces dont fall off when we are using it on the bed, etc. and the pieces can be stored inside the board. it takes up a small place and can be taken on trips. value for money and highly recommended

I bought this for my boys who are 7 and 9. It's a great set since it's magnetized! If anyone accidentally bumps into it the pieces stay where they are. It's also great to bring over to others houses to play since all the pieces fit in the middle and it closes up.

This product is very efficient, looks like the pictures, and also has a magnetic hold. I thought This would be bigger but it’s a little on the smaller size though. It also is travel sized board with the pieces in a compartment inside the board. Overall, this is a good product for beginners and just playing for fun.

This is a nice size to travel with. Quality seems good, the down side is the magnets aren't very strong and the bigger chess pieces are top heavy and don't stay on the magnetic board great. The board itself is smooth. My kids can pass the time on long car rides playing chess while improving their chess game. My son is teaching his younger sister how to play so its great learning opportunity for both.

I purchased several boards for my middle school students, and they love them. Pieces still get lost, but not nearly as frequently since they're just magnetic enough to hold them in place when they get jostled on a desk or table.
