Purchased to replace the old ones on my truck which were starting to tear and sling grease everywhere. Unfortunately one of the axles came damaged from shipping in the box, presumably having been dropped on its end causing the axle to punch itself through its own end-cap. Customer service was very friendly and I was able to have a replacement shaft shipped to me, with no shipping cost on my end. The replacement unit arrived in superior packaging and thus was in perfect condition. Because of the excellent customer service in getting to me a replacement shaft I am satisfied to leave this review at 5 stars. As for the built quality, I did not see anything significantly deficient versus the factory unit, but I will point out that at very least to the credit of Detroit Axle for the units I received that they have a far superior axle nut versus the factory ones that were on my truck. The old ones were at best a Grade 5, wherease the new ones were definitely Grade 8 and twice as thick, also having been stamped so to lock better. Considering the boots on these, I would not recommend these in a consistently heavy off-road work environment because they did feel thinner than the factory ones. However for regular dirt or highway road use they should be fine.

Ordered these for a 2000 Silverado 1500 with a torsion key lift and they fit perfectly. They articulate farther than the ones I had from local parts store(that I had to return). I have purchased other parts from Detroit axle and have never been let down.

Do not buy! Bought product in February installed several weeks later. After 5 months one of the CV boots blew off. Have tried contacting company and they only state policy do not have any customer satisfaction techniques. Kem only stated policy and would not try to find any sort of solution. Was actually very rude in the interaction, asking are you done. Policy says this. I have replaced many parts on my truck and when one fails the company has had sympathy and made the situation right. Especially if the product didn't last 6 months. Not Detroit Axle they sell you crappy parts, they break and they say tough luck. Avoid at all cost. The wheel hubs I purchased and installed around the same time are already leaking grease 5 month later. Poor quality and poor customer service.
