Let’s start off with the people who have the switch light, I recently got a Nintendo switch light and knowing you could only play digital Media on your primary consul without Internet connection now if you have a secondary Switch it will require you to be connected to the Internet so it can do a verification check. That’s where this baby comes in granted I purchased this only for connecting my Nintendo switch not my phone nothing else not streaming videos I’m not watching YouTube, etc. for that stuff I’ll just use my phone data because it’s unlimited it’s a bit pricey to do unlimited on this Skyroam device. If you use it only for your Nintendo switch this is a easy way to alleviate activation checking Here is the catch if you have a game on cartridge first game I tested this with was South Park I own it on cartridge but I own the season pass through the E shop so without internet connection you will load up the game and it will require a Internet connection to verify the DLC‘s you can start the software but it will remove whatever you have done in the game with DLC‘s meaning your load game will not load you would have to start a new game without DLC‘s installed. That goes for any game that you have anything tied to it through the E shop so far I think my Witcher 3 copy would be the only game that I don’t have anything tied to it through the E shop so I could upload and download game saves at home on my main and on my secondary and it not have to do a verification. now I did test it loading Google and Amazon webpages probably will be fine but that’s not what it’s for in my case the Nintendo switch in the Internet connection settings displayed a 1.5 Down and 3.5 up. This device seems a bit underrated when it comes to what you can do with it I never expected anything but my Nintendo switch to connect to the Internet without any problems so the Nintendo E shop can do it’s verification now this actually takes the headache away of setting my light as the primary and my regular console As secondary. Now with skyroams 1 gig a month no rollover for 6$ Was my target subscription due to the fact the Nintendo switch doesn’t require too high of a connection speed to function correctly online and to do the verification check. I will test other games to see How much data actually gets used. In two hours Of playing South Park data used 0.02 so buying a gig or two a month and taking the huge headache away of owning two Nintendo switches is a huge huge plus. I mean South Park booted right up no issue it was like I conquered the world Thank a bunch SKYROAM you got me as a customer and I’m loving it my Nintendo switch is loving it to.

Worked like a charm on first use in San Francisco. I bought pay as you go USA data. Also 1gb of global data was loaded when setting it up upon receiving it in Canada. I'll only use pay as you go either USA or global depending on where I travel as there is no throttling back and expiry. Further to my first review now that I've been using it for a year, I rate my Solis Lite as a "Most excellent product" I've used my Solis lite extensively in the USA but also in Mexico and Canada with no problem whatsoever. It came in very handy on our trip to Mexico when the hotel WiFi was choppy at best. Using Pay as you go USA and Global data is the way to go as there is no throttling back and no expiry on the data. You can also connect up to 5 different items at once on each Solis which is a plus. A must have for any traveller.

I purchased an unlimited day pass, which is supposed to be unlimited, high speed internet. Unfortunately the speeds don't match the description.. I am hardly getting a connection even though the cell signal in my area is good. For reference, my phone gets 120/50 mbps on tmobiles 5G. Skyroam is connected to a Tmobile 4G network but can hardly get 1/1 mbps.. (my expected speeds for 4G would be greater than 10mbps) There is clearly some throttling here, as I cannot maintain a proper connection. I wouldn't recommend this product, as the day passes they sell are pretty deceptive and don't mention any throttling. The speeds are unusable for normal use. The "unlimited" monthly plan has 20gb of 4g data which is then throttled to unusable speeds, the more expensive unlimited day passes have no mention of this throttling, yet I am being throttled. They also advertise 24/7 tech support but I was not able to speak to a representative. Their in-app chat showed a queue of 2 people but that queue never went down even after waiting 40 minutes. Their phone number rang for 10 minutes until I got their voicemail. Now they are saying their support line is closed for the day. I guess I'll try again tomorrow.

Over the last six or seven years, I rented these Hotspots for my international travel, and they were great, very reliable, connected everywhere without an issue. Finally I decided to buy my own Hotspot to avoid the hassle of getting and returrning the units. The first Hotspot I purchased stopped working after four days. I returned the unit, and asked for a replacement--a process that worked very quickly. The new Hostpot is working well, and I am very pleased with it.

I am from Miami. I went to Mexico, Turkey & Dubai. This Skyroam private Wi-Fi gizmo was great. It is small, compact, fits in my backpack, and lasts about 12-hours without recharge. I like having “private” WI-FI” When traveling. Great customer service. It has a 1-year warranty. Subscription to turn on for US or Global (122+ countries) you can purchase by day or month. It works! I got great reception in the middle of nowhere in Mexico. However, in the middle of nowhere in Turkey, at one point, I had no reception. Customer service told me it takes time to adjust between countries! Very happy that it worked where I stayed in Mexico, because the room I was in had no wi-fi! I was thrilled in Istanbul at the airport because people were waiting in line to sign up for the free Wi-Fi. They give you ONE HOUR free at Istanbul Airport, after that, they charge you. Additionally, you have to pay plenty for Wi-fi at MIA (Miami Int’l Airport), and the Sky roam works great at MIA! Very happy with the product and the great customer service.

Just back from a trip to Asia. This is an amazing device. Kept my wife and I fully connected as we traveled to 7 different countries. It's just perfect. The customer service is great and immediate, can't beat this device.

This item was a bit of a lifesaver when travelling but a bit of headache to set up...when I got it turned it on but would not connect to any signal and could not connect to the app had to phone the company direct given the serial number to activate item when brought through Amazon I was told I would get an email to let me know when it was activated but did not get any such email so turned it on anyway and it got connected to the app and started working would definitely recommend BUT definitely get set up before you go anywhere

Excelente calidad, plug&play, internet mas que maravillosa para 5 iPads que veían videos y películas o redes sociales desde Bologna hasta roma y Madrid. Es triste reconocer la gran calidad de este servicio fuera de mexico y lejos de telcel. Estamos a años luz de ellos. Lo recomiendo ampliamente de hecho cancele mi plan telcel y me quede con el servicio de Solis vía wifi/

Ich möchte meinen Skyroam Solis Lite nicht mehr missen - endlich unabhängiges WLAN, egal wo ich bin. Ich bin Vielflieger und habe immer wieder sehr viel Geld für Roaming ausgegeben, z.B. weil das Navi vom Leihauto kaputt war, beim Bestellen von Uber-Taxis in USA oder weil das lokale WLAN im Hotel einfach viel zu langsam für eine Videokonferenz war. Jetzt ist das ein Kinderspiel und die Kosten sind ganz klar planbar. Klein und handlich, wertige Verarbeitung, unkompliziert im Aufsetzen und in der Bedienung. Und man verlegt es nicht so leicht versehentlich, weil die orange Farbe sehr auffällt (wichtig beim schnellen Auschecken im Hotel). Einfach perfekt!
