Simple, Foolproof Knife Sharpener That Just Works (Great Value for the Price)
5.0 out of 5 stars — Simple, Effective, and Hard to Beat for the Price I picked up the Work Sharp Portable Pivot Knife Sharpener not expecting much, but it honestly punches way above its weight. If you’re looking for something quick, compact, and easy to use, this gets the job done without any fuss. The guided angles make it pretty much foolproof—no guesswork, no learning curve. A few passes and you’re back to a clean, usable edge. It’s not trying to be a high end precision system, but that’s kind of the point. It’s fast, consistent, and works exactly how you want a portable sharpener to work. Build quality is solid for the price, and the size makes it easy to toss in a drawer, toolbox, or even take camping. I’ve used it on kitchen knives and a couple of beat up utility blades, and it brought them back to life with minimal effort. If you’re expecting mirror-polished edges, look elsewhere. But if you want a reliable, no-nonsense sharpener that actually works and doesn’t cost much, this is a no-brainer. For the price, it’s an easy 5 stars.

Great value for what it is
I don’t give this five stars because it’s the best knife sharpener on the market, but rather because for the price and speed, it’s a great tool. I bought two more with one for the kitchen. This is exactly the type of quick work on mildly tuff steel that these were made for, it’s probably not going to work well on some of the better more modern pocket knife steels, but it works for what it was intended and it’s cheap enough to keep a couple around.

Amazing price; but different steel, different results
This sharpener is fantastic when it comes to sharpening high carbon blades. I have a Japanese santoku kitchen knife that badly needed sharpening, and this little sharpener got it back to razor level in very few passes. However, when I started trying to use it on other steels with my everyday carry knife and others, I got varied results. 440 Stainless was right in the middle of difficulty to get sharp. And right behind that, softer steels like 420 (or 420J2, 420HC) took many passes and a lot of time get a good edge to take and hold. I don't mind putting in the extra work to get my blades back up to code, but I was surprised as to how different each steel type reacted to the carbide. This is my first time using a carbide sharpener, so I don't know if this is normal or not. Either way, it does the job very well as long as you're willing to put in the extra effort on the softer steels. This could be a 5 star sharpener, but the only reason I have to knock a star off is because of the placement of the red carbide adjuster switch on the top. Because of it's location, the rubber grip that is glued around it is very thin because it takes up most of the space, and when using the honing side, the one side isn't as grippy. The overall design of this sharpener is great though, but I don't understand why they didn't choose to put the selector switch on the front face of the body. On a side note, the packaging is very well done. Whoever they have doing the marketing did a great job. It's super tough, and I had a good laugh trying to use my very dull every day carry to open it. I could barely get through the plastic bubble to get to the sharpener, the very thing I needed to get it sharp in the first place. I don't say this negatively. It was just the irony of it and was pretty funny. Overall, this is a fine sharpener for most needs at a fantastic price point.

easy way to sharpen knives
Is it as good as a proper knife sharpener? No. Does it work good enough? Yes. Easy to use. Anyone can use it and get a pretty sharp knife out of it. I do not think it would work as good as a wet stone and someone that knows how to use it. I am not one of those people. I also do not want to spend over a hundred dollars getting a knife sharpener system that works great. This is cheap and easy and can be easily added to camping gear if needed.

Mostly Works
This is a handy tool for quick sharpening or touch up sharpening of your often used knives. The feature that I think is really lame is the "PIVOT" feature. What this is supposed to do is affect the support for the Yellow plastic piece that holds the Convex Carbide sharpener. Moving this switch allows this piece of plastic to very slightly move, as though there is slop in the mounting of it. With this piece "locked" the top will move about 1/32" and with it unlocked it will move about 1/16". This is the movement you get when you push on it with your finger. When in use the difference in movement, if any, is very difficult to see. I am confused about how this is supposed to do anything for you as this is a hand held device that moves much more than this as you push and pull your knife through the Carbide edges. Outside of this lame feature, this tool seems to do a reasonable job of basic sharpening.

Works as it should
Update: So I have used this on just about everything including a sharpened shovel, yeah a shovel and it works fantastic. The pivot feature is useless in my eyes but none the less for under 5$, getting a quality product from a proper company is hard to beat. Skip the competition and go straight for this. Not much to elaborate on other than the pivot feature....I'll be honest I don't really see the benefit of it however it could just be my usage. Overall it works great, I was looking to get the same performance I get from my Rada Knife Sharpener and that it does! I don't view pull through sharpeners as a fix all but rather a quick way to touch up an axe or field knife when you don't want to strop it. For this purpose it works great, the size and design fits perfectly in pack pockets and makes an easy transition. The price is the killer part, I would of easily paid $10 for this thing so buying it for $4 at the time of purchase was pretty sweet.

Nice little pocket sharpener
I can’t ask for much more out of a pocket sharpener. It’s small/compact enough to easily fit in a pocket or backpack. It’s light. But most importantly it does it’s job well. It gives you three options to sharpen your blade depending on the edge you’re looking for. I purchased this along with a pocket knife. They arrived together and I put a nice, sharp edge on my new knife in no time. The only slight drawback is that it might be a little too small/compact for some people. You definitely need full concentration while using it and if you’re hands are on the bigger side I could see it being too small. Otherwise it’s great for camping, EDC, tool box, junk drawer, or anywhere else you might need to stash a sharpener without taking up much space. Recommended.

Portable and multi functional
Generally speaking very happy purchase. It totally worth the buck you pay for . Sharped my two combat knife as soon as I got it two days ago . Underneath are my thoughts . Pros and cons : 1.pro. tiny and protable . Save room for the hiking bag . 2. Pro. Lanyard design make it better . 3.cons doesn't have enough grip while slide the knife thought . It wobbling due to doesn't have enough grip . Suggest use more rubber or silicone material get more grip . Compare to my old untility knife sharpener. Big handle make it no way to wobbling . For a tiny sharpener I know I can't expect too much for such compact tiny tool .but maybe just a little material changing can make it different. 4 pros . Ceramic hone has super large angle . Fits all my knife . I can not use my kitchen sharpener to sharp my combat knife just because the kitchen sharpener angle is not big enough to catch the whole blade. 5 pros fish hook sharpener . Nice feature for fishing . pretty neat for a small cheap tool . 6. Cons good knife sharpener need a more detail instruction .the Instruction for that is on the package simply highly feature . At least tell consumer like pull how many times . Coating with water before Sharp knife .
