The Denis Wick 2B cornet mouthpiece, is exactly the mouthpiece result I was looking for. It gives me a great big and softly beautiful classic cornet sound. It also provides a much warmer and slightly darker tone than the mouthpiece that came with my 1951, Olds "Special" cornet (which was a bit too trumpety sounding). The lower register with this mouthpiece is simply amazing! A deep, full and rich low register and a nice, mellow singing voice in the upper register. I'm also finding it much easier to reach the high notes with this mouthpiece. I've been playing on a Denis Wick 1C on my trumpet for over a decade, and this 2B cornet MP, is the perfect complement when switching from trumpet to cornet. This 2B MP has given me a greater appreciation for my cornet and I will be playing it much more frequently. This was a very good, standout purchase!

Let me preface by saying that this is the only Cornet mouthpiece you will ever need for the rest of your life. Upon receiving it, I slapped it on my Yamaha student Cornett, and it just made a world of difference. Completely changed the sound. It now sounds like a cornet. That classic British full rounded smooth sound. I also play the trumpet and I have Monette mouthpieces, and this Dennis Wick mouthpiece is my new favorite. I bought it to replace the standard Yamaha mouthpiece for my 12-year-old, who plays in band. He also noticed right away how easy it is to play. Much easier than the Yamaha that came with it because this one has such a deep cup. It just sounds so great and the feel of it is extremely solid. I highly recommend getting one of these if you play cornet. I’m also going to find a trumpet mouthpiece from Wick as soon as possible. Updated: my 12-year-old son has played this thing about 5X as he was before with the terrible Yamaha stock mouthpiece. Thanks to this mouthpiece he sounds amazing. It’s just so much easier to play and it sounds so much better. It makes practicing fun.

I bought this Wick 4B from Amazon for my cornet and have been playing with it exclusively for about a week and a half now. I really like it. It has a deeper cup and more open bore than I'm used to, but I've been giving myself some time to adjust. It's coming together better than I expected. Responsiveness was good right away, and my sound is starting to focus. My intonation has been off a bit, but that's my fault, not the piece---anyway, that's starting to come around too. I had read some comments from other cornet players on web forums who said that they thought the inside of the rim on Wick pieces was too sharp, which made endurance difficult. This hasn't been a problem for me at all. I think the shape of the mouthpiece is really good, playable and comfortable. The main reason I bought this piece was to try and get more of a characteristic cornet sound with my cornet playing---less "trumpety." The Wick 4B gives me that. It isn't a drastic difference, but my sound is more "cornety" than what I was getting with my Bach-style pieces. Just a shade darker, but still clear and resonant, not muffled, and with a somewhat brighter sound within reach if I drive the air a bit. I'm happy with my purchase, and I'd recommend this piece to other cornet players.

Is there a place for me to complain about the shipping? This mouthpiece is intended to be a gift and the box is pretty beat up from its journey. The mouthpiece itself seems fine, but couldn’t it be protected better during shipping?

I was introduced to Denis Wick mouthpieces several years ago and won't use anything else with my trumpet and flugelhorn. I found an old cornet and decided I needed a good mouthpiece for it. The sound is wonderful, powerful and dark.

Seems to be a very popular mouthpiece; but, the cup is too deep for my taste. I produces a nice fat sound, but (again for me) it limits range and control. I went back to the mouthpiece that came with my Besson cornet.

No complaints on this mouthpiece at all. It's nice and wide (without being too wide) and looks great. It's incredibly comfortable, and I'd definitely buy it again.

I was on the hunt for a new mouthpiece for a long time and, not knowing much about them, I struggled. This mouthpiece was recommended by a fellow cornet player, and I must say, it's been fantastic since purchasing. Highly recommend!

Das Mundstück ist ok, eignet sich aber nicht für Trompete ( Bach) Dieses Mundstück kann ich nur mit einem Adapter gebrauchen. Diese Mündstück ist für Cornett und Flügelhorn geeignet, leider. Muss ich jetzt so hinnehmen. Die Größe vom Mundstück wurde mit denis Wick 3 bestellt , aber es kam Denis Wick 4 Mit freundlichen Gruß Wolfgang Spengler

I know it was a bit pricey but it was worth it as my son now gets a better range of notes as he was really struggling before on his smaller mouthpiece. Denis Wick was the one recommended by my sons music teacher, so we obvioulsy followed her recommendation and havent been disappointed.
