Material is there, but a cumbersome read..
Nursing school text. While this book had a lot of good information, reading it was quite dense. Like many things in nursing, the APA style is used for referencing. In my opinion all the citations in the text make it more cumbersome to read. The material is in the book, and I did well in my geriatrics class, but at times the reading was not exactly a fun experience. I wish authors realized just how unattractive it is to read with all of those citations- it's like you are reading along and bang- now you have to skip 2-3 lines of names you can't pronounce to get back to the meat of the text. Like most students, I don't really care who wrote the article or where the author cited it from, these are not going to be on the test!! I prefer the superscript format of citations with a reference list at the end so it doesn't interrupt the flow of reading. Otherwise, it is a complete resource for your nursing geriatrics class.

Good Book for Nursing students
This book was required for my graduate class on gerontology. It is easy to read and understand. With that said, our class decided it did not fit our graduate needs for advanced practice and took it off of the required reading. It is an excellent resource for undergraduate CNA's or nursing students.

Requied for class
This book was a class requirement for my nursing program. Not sure if I will need to keep it or will resell it. So I am glad amazon carrys this item. I was able to save 10% - 20% off the bookstore prices even with the shipping cost added in.

good information, bad grammar
The information contained in this book is worthwhile, but the grammar is so terrible in places that the meaning of the sentence is indiscernible. I don't know if the printed book is the same, or if this is an issue with the Kindle version alone.

Very instrumental for Geriatric nurses!
DID not like having to navigate the in text citations. The book has been written in APA format and you can not read a paragraph without reading at least two citations, (some have upwards of 5!0 makes focusing on the readings difficult, as these are distractions when there are so many intergrated in the readings. it seems every other sentence has a citation. perhaps the book should have been written in a different format.

This book has wonderful information for best practice for the geriatric
The print is small and it's a lot of information to read when you need information in a hurry. This book has wonderful information for best practice for the geriatric population

Excellent book for understanding geriatrics/older adults
It has clear explanations and examples of what to expect from geriatric patients. This book has helped understand what to look for when assessing, diagnosing and treating older adults. I would recommend it as the No 1 book for all healthcare professionals including physicians and not only nurses who take care of this population.

Not for advanced practice nursing, ok for BSN or below
I bought this for graduate work for FNP studies, found it less than useful. I do not recommend for graduate studies, it seems to be written towards BSN nursing, not advance practice nursing.
