works well, get stripped easily have to adjust
I got this to take off the nuts on my used open trailer that were fused on the first one or two worked well but it wasn't actually the product problem it was actually cuz I had very little room on the other side of the trailer underneath to get to the bolts so actually I had to use this product the nut splitter 2 Tac off little by little down to where I could get the nut off, because I was doing this the blade got stripped and wouldn't stay in place but if you just set it manually up against what you want to split it keeps on working and keeps on ticking. * don't get frustrated if this nut splitter keeps slipping off as you use a ratchet. What I did was I cranked it tight on the nut even in a tight space with the nut splitter once it was in grooved in there I went to the other side and if the nut splitter is wedged on the opposite side or you can hold it then you could use a second ratchet on the other side on the fault to loosen it. The problem I was having with the bolt has the nuts were fused on to them so every time I turned the bolt head the nut would spin

Works Great
I had cheap ones years ago and they would break every time i tried them. I took a chance on this one for an exhaust collector stud nut. It was on a 2000 chevy plow truck. This nut splitter is well made. Real heavy duty it split that nut no problem. I highly recommend this.

Works well once, any more times are luck
7/15/23 Update Well whaddya know. The set screw broke on me on my second nut. I was trying to split a 19mm one. I ended up having to go at it with a chisel to get it split the rest of the way. Stinks that long term usage won't happen, but I still recommend it because when you need it, nothing else will do. Original review I had a 22mm (the limit for this tool) jam nut for a tie rod that was seized solid and it wasn't budging with my impact. I don't have heat so the only other option was to use this splitter. I was a little worried it wouldn't work after reading reviews, but it came through. You'll notice it actually cuts diagonally rather than straight up and down. Also, it does tend to kind of roll forward as you tighten down. These notes may be manageable if you kind of center punch the nut with a chisel prior. I don't know how may more nuts I'll be able to split with this, but if it works even just this once I think it's worth it. Especially considering it took me less than 5 minutes to split it when I had been fighting with the nut more than 3 hours prior.

Shattered after the second nut
I bought this to remove the nuts holding on my sway bar link. I wasn't able to get q good angle on the first nut as there was no set screw and the wedge spun freely. On the second nut, a quarter of the wedge shattered of. (I was using a ratchet, so definitely wasn't over torqueing it.) I switched to use the other side of the wedge and was able to get the nut off. (The second side started to fracture, but didn't come off.) Great for a one (or two) time use. Trash for keeping on hand.

A good tool for rusted nuts
This tool served its purpose of removing a rusted nut on an old Ford. I am putting tube gas filled rear shocks on my 1935 Ford. Removing the original lever type shock I needed this as the rusted nut was causing the half round head of the bolt on the back side of the shock to spin. I used ample WD-40 on the nut overnight. I held the body of the tool with a Crescent wrench to counter the torque of using a breaker bar with 3/4” socket. There is a satisfying “give” when the cutting blade separates the nut. I did two sides 180 degrees apart on the nut, and it fell off in two clean pieces. I probably won’t use it frequently, but it is worth it!

Does the job, but is a pain to work with
Needed this to remove some rusted sway bar nuts. The tool feels like it's solid construction, but the weakest link on this tool is the set screw found on the side. After the first try, the set screw broke which made it more difficult to get the job done as the cutting portion of the tool was difficult to maintain in place without the set screw. If this came with replacement set screws or a better way of maintaining the cutting tool in place, I think it would be a better product.

"Craftsman" comes through
Perhaps not the most precise engineering in the world, but it worked. Had a 40 year old nut that was rusted and frozen in place. As this was a toilet repair, the I had to be careful about the amount of persuasion I could use. Surprisingly, neither of the 2 auto parts stores carried one, and the big orange box store looked at me like I had 2 heads when I described what I needed. Amazon prime had it at my door by 2PM the next day. Applying torque slowly with a crescent wrench split the nut on one side, then the other. Well worth the investment. Clearly, the manufacturing is not the quality I would have expected from "Craftsman", but it is sufficient to to the job.

Nice splitter
Nice splitter. I see reviews that complain, especially on nuts without clearance issues, say a tie rod. If you have good access to nut use angle grinder first to do bulk of work then splitter so you don't run risk of damaging threads. Sometimes I just use cutting wheel on angle grinder and just cut down to just before threads and pop nut with chisel.

No bolt can fight against it. I feel like hulk whenever i’m using this.

Stay away from this inferior product. I didnt listen to the reviews. The set screw snapped during the first nut splitting procedure rendering the tool useless. Sad Emoticon.
