US YF-23 Prototype Airplane Model Building Kit

Item arrived in good condition.... looking forward to the build

I’d never heard or bought a model from this company but it’s going together very well and I’m very pleased with it!

Good fit. Relatively few parts. Decals adhered well. Impressive dimensions.

Outer box came almost half crushed, look like someone stood on it. But the inner box was only slightly squashed on one end. Fortunately no damage. I opened it up immediately to check and all is well, they is even some extra foam wrapped around the nose of the plane to protect it in shipment normally. Funny thing I notice on the box is that the tail markings look like they were airbrushed out by the manufacturer. No impact on the kit, but kinda strange. You can see it on the photo on the amazon page if you look closely.

Excellent kit! Build quality is very very good. Needs a small counter weight though but easily achievable using loose change, pipe fitting, etc. I built mine to replicate PAV-1 used during the ATF (Advanced Tactical Fighter) competition. For my decals I used caracal models YF-23 decals. With a little bit of work this model is an excellent kit!

Do not buy. Besides needing way too much glue, this model doesn't even fit together right. The Wings are too heavy to stay on even with glue. The tail sprouts don't fit in the back. It needs a weight in the front which would be fine if the front would stay together. This is the only yf23 kit so I wanted to get it but it is the worst kit I've ever built. Because the doors to the wheels don't look good, nor do the wheels stay on well, I had to remove them off the body and make my own. The picture on the side of the box doesn't even use the same parts when looking closer. Do not buy it unless you intend to scrap the instructions and end up doing whatever you can to salvage this terribly built model

Great model of a contender for the ATF aircraft that did'nt win the government bid.
