Good USB-C to USB-A adapter
Using this on a Microsoft Lumia 950XL. Does the job well. Good materials, feels sturdy like it will take a few thousand uses. Tight grip on USB-C and USB-A ports; nothing is going fall out by itself. The cable build is sturdy and bendy, but not flimsy. Aesthetically, I wish it was a more rounded product on the USB-A side. The materials are fine - and I can't knock off a star for it, I would have liked to seen at least one side of it rounded. It would be flat where it needed to be and round where it could just look nicer.

Everything you need at a great price.
Exactly what I needed. Fits snugly in the 3.1c port on my computer and all USB cables I have tried, fit snugly in the adapter. Works perfectly in the 3.1c slot in either orientation ("up" or "down"). I plugged in my mouse and it recognized immediately, unplugged and plugged in headphones and recognized them immediately. I flipped the orientation of the 3.1c connector from "top" to "bottom" and repeated and both peripherals worked flawlessly. Adapter feels very robust, not cheaply made. Would recommend to all, great value for the price.

Works for using a real keyboard on my phone
I hate my phone's touch screen keyboard, I can touch to the left of the A to get the A, otherwise I get the D. Most key are that far off, Texting is a PITA! There is no screen calibration routine! At least when I am at home I can use a real keyboard for much less than a decent bluetooth keyboard would cost

It does everything
I didn't expect much from it when purchasing because it's simply a new technology that I'm not used to. I bought it for the purpose of having a usb-3 port for my macbook 12. As a matter of fact, it sat on my desk for a few days before I even open it up. I've used this a few times now and found that I didn't not disappoint me in any way. It acted as a usb output and provides energy to charge my phone, it connected with my cannon printer, and it was able to charge with the ipad 29W wall charger. I used the wall charger with this adapter to charge my iphone. I wouldn't be surprised if it can charge my macbook 12. Bottom line, great built with high quality cable. Only 1 problem is that the usb-c tip is a bit long and about 1.5mm longer than the apple's cable. This makes the connection weaker than if it were shorter and have the hard rubber base of the usb-c tip align with the side of the macbook.

Nice adapter!
I bought one of these for my travel kit, which basically has things like a USB 3.0 hub, bluetooth dongle, wifi dongle and Gb ethernet dongle/adapter. Never leave home without the essentials, right? In any case, one piece I was missing that I wanted to add was an adapter for USB-C connections on newer equipment. Being out of the country and wanting to transfer files to/from a flash drive, one certainly doesn't want to be caught with their proverbial pants down if the only available port is Type-C on the host device. A year or so back, I wouldn't have worried about it, but these days I prefer not to take my chances (or, perhaps I should say, push my luck). This little jobber is just what the doctor ordered. Short, robust cable, USB 3.1 and basically everything I need it to be. And, for the purists, it is USB 3.1 gen 1, not gen 2, but for the few instances I will probably see myself using it, I don't think the distinction is going to matter because I won't be transferring the kind of data volumes where I'll even notice the difference. That said, I would definitely prefer to have a 3.1 gen 2 version of this, and I'll certainly keep my eye out, but I have not found one as of yet. Not having any 3.1 gen 2 flash drives (or any other accessories) that I would use this with, it is thankfully a moot point (for now). Bottom line, quality seems good, fit and finish are good and it's just the right size for a travel kit or what have you. Highly recommended, especially if you're never quite sure what host devices you might be interacting with and whether or not they have an available legacy port to use. They're going to become less and less common as time goes on, and I can see these being extremely useful for years to come.

working great with 2018 macbook pro
I've used this to connect a variety of legacy USB items to my 2018 macbook pro--from USB hard drives to older thumb drives and software security dongles. No problems with any of them. Convenient length and good price. I like Cable Matters products and have used a lot of them over the past few years with no issues with any of them. That keeps me coming back to the brand when I need something else.

Future proof your laptop with these great value cables.
My new laptop has a USB 3 and a USB 3.1 port. I know I'm going to want to connect two USB three devices to it at the same time. What am I to do? Well these Cable Matters USB 3.1 Type C to USB 3 Type A cables are just the thing. They are short cables with a male USB 3.1 Type C and a female USB 3 connector. The cables are well made and fit securely into my Asus Zenbook. They are very good value and allow quick data transfer. Highly recommended to future proof your laptop.
