takes 11 AA batteries is the only negative side, woulda been nice if it had a rechargeable pack in it, but its pretty good on battery life so far 1st time i tried it i tried crow hunting and we had them swarming in from everywhere! it was intense works great with coyotes too will be getting the decoy to connect to the decoy port thought, get it when its on sale you wont regret it

I absolutely love this call. When shopping for an ecaller I had a few expectations. Price, ease of function and weight. Price wise I think it's very well priced for what you get. Compared to other brands that are comparable, this one takes the cake. Ease of function is what truly sold me. The remote is great. Very easy to navigate the options. Backlight is good and easy to see. Remote size is comfortable and easy to reach all the buttons with just my thumb ( I have larger hands). Sound quality is very good in my opinion and very loud. As others have stated certain sounds get a bit distorted at max volume. The EXPERT hunts by Randy Anderson is another big reason why I got this caller. I absolutely love this option. You can create your own call sequences but I mostly use the EXPERT hunts. Size of the unit is compact when folded up and easy to carry around. The two side speakers swivel for direction and the sound goes through the different speakers in a panning effect. Some reviewers said the speakers give out but like with any speaker you need to break them in. Don't just put the volume at 100 the first time you take it out. What I did was start it at 50 with a pillow over the speakers at home and slowly raised the volume. This thing is damn loud. Since doing the break in period I've never had a problem. My only gripe with this unit is the folding legs. They seem a little wobbly and the unit could fall over if not properly stood up but maybe you could tighten them. Overall I am very satisfied with this caller and would recommend it to anyone or replace if need be.

I bought this call to upgrade from a flextone echo which is a good call, this one just has more features. I got the call, threw some batteries in it and went out for one stand before it got dark. I didn't see any coyotes but the call sounded great and the expert hunts seem like they should work great. The next day I decided to go out and give it another try in a different spot. I started off with the cottontail in distress hunt but didn't have any luck so I switched to the mating hunt. About 5 minutes in I had a big male coyote coming in straight down wind of me. He got about 40 yards from me and I did my part. I have been coyote hunting for several years and have only called in two coyotes on at least 100 stands, not what you would call great success. In two stands I called in a coyote. I'll be hunting more this weekend to see if I got lucky or if the call really helped. As far as volume goes(because I know you hunters want to know) don't turn it up all the way in the house, you'll be sorry. Out hunting I could hear it echoing on coyote vocals. When locating some coyotes I had them going crazy at least a mile away. It's loud and crystal clear even on full volume. The remote seems to work good, but I've only had it out 40 yards or so. Update: 6 years later and it's still working but I don't get to hunt as much as I used to.

Really like it so far...called in a BIG alpha male coyote the first day, using the mating call expert hunt sequences. I especially like being able to select individual calls in the sequence to replay before going on with the sequence. I have it rated four stars because Wilbur could have included a carrying strap, and the speaker covers that fold down to legs should snap or otherwise secure over the speakers better than they do (they tend to unfold easily when brushing against your clothing or slung rifle while walking). I have not had a problem with the clarity of the calls. Compared to the Flextone call I just gave away, at 50% volume the calls are sharp and clear. Since I do not have wide open spaces (food plots and trails only) I find that even lower volumes work well in the deep pine plantations of south MS, where I hunt. Really looking forward to busting some dogs after turkey season closes in three more days! I am used to getting great products from Primo's and the Alpha Dogg is no exception...recommended.

My first electronic caller, failed miserably with the manual. First of all it is very impressive on its frame and structure. Very well built. The speakers are of a high quality and the sound is very impressive as well. The default in-house calls are great. I have loaded some additional sounds and it does take a bit of patience. Join the club and pick your calls. After making your purchase you download them into your computer. You then connect the caller to the computer via the USB cable. After they are loaded the calls are then automatically loaded to your remote. When it works it is amazing. This is a great deal and worth every penny. Very loud when turned up and quality of sound is excellent. BUY IT.
