I was replacing a previous driveway alert, which after many years of good service no longer worked because the PIRs were defunct. Of the replacement devices the Guardline system looked to be the best in terms of features and reliability but then I spotted this system. The fact that all the reviews were positive actually made me suspicious. However, the price was so very reasonable and if it was rubbish it would go straight back! There is a reason this is getting good reviews. It works really well and is inexpensive. First good point, batteries are included. The build quality is excellent. There are some design decisions that show this is a well thought out product. For instance, the mounting screws are stainless steel - ideal for outdoor use. The mounting bracket has a brass insert, which again will mean that corrosion will not be a problem and all mounting hardware is provided. Being really really really picky the wall plugs could be better and the included screwdriver should be a crosshead. The receiver plugs straight into a standard outlet and is sized so that it will not obstruct the other outlet in a 2-gang socket or the switches, so no power adaptor and cables. This is REALLY well designed. The instructions are clear and accurate. Setting up the alarm is simplicity itself. Choose a tone (more about these later), hold the volume button for a few seconds, activate the PIR and pairing is complete. There are 52 alarm tones to choose from. In reality, I could only tolerate about 10 of them but if you don't mind musical chimes then there are plenty to choose from and the sound quality is pretty good, you also get a visual alert (in time to the music!). There are four levels of volume control that should suit most people in all but the noisiest environments. Two rooms away, I could still hear the alert above the sound of a boiling kettle. Well-designed, easy to set up but how does it perform? With thick walls and vegetation between the receiver and the transmitter I did not expect to get anywhere near the stated range of 150m. The fact I got half this was a pleasant surprise indeed! This kit has doubled the detection range of my previous system for less than half the price! I do get a very few false alarms caused by birds and squirrels because the main sensor is set low to pick up the heat from vehicle exhausts so this is to be expected. Gales with gusts of more than 70mph produced only a few false alarms from moving vegetation. More importantly the Mydome has registered every vehicle and person entering the property to date. This product really deserves its Amazon Choice rating.

I wrote this review for the touch sensitive bell pushes, which work great with this unit, for my dog. I struggled to find the bell pushes on here, but the kind lady at Mydome customer support sent me this link for them. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07KX2FLLZ?ref=myi_title_dp Some time ago, i bought a touch sensitive doorbell, which i stuck outside my back door at low level. By giving treats etc, i was able to train my dog to use it, to tell me that he wanted to get back into the house. Worked brilliantly. When it eventually broke, i took forever to get one to replace it, or at least one that worked well. There are some that say they'll work well, but only do intermittently, which just confuses my dog. Another i purchased just needed the lightest of presses, but it was too much for his limited brain! This one works fantastically, in fact it will work when his nose gets within about half an inch of it! I got one for inside & outside of the door, so he can tell me from either side. I didn't bother, but you can even assign separate ringtones to each push. (Training tip: apart from small dog treats, smear a tiny amount of syrup/honey over each push. They'll initially lick it but that will still work, so who cares?) So far so good. But there are things that Mydome could do better in my opinion. I'll list them here, hopefully they'll improve how their systems works, as this is a great bit of kit. I had a few queries that i directed to customer support, and Nadeem was really most helpful in her replies. 1: I only found out about this, when i saw it in the picture of the Mydome doorbell as an added option. I couldn't actually find it on amazon, and Nadeem had to send me a link to access it. A company called Switched on products sell it. 2: I had to buy a complete doorbell kit, discard the existing bell push, and then add these to the receiver. To be fair, the original transmitter & receiver, plus these two touch sensitive transmitters, only came to about £20, so it's pretty good value. 3: Some of these type door bells actually have to be ripped off their sticky pads to change the batteries, which i find infuriating. These don't, but without knowing how they work, you can see that it needs to be twisted, but it's only the inner ring that turns! Great design, but tell people that with the product please. 4: It seems that when the doorbell is pressed once, the receiver locks it out for about 5 seconds. The LED on the transmitter still flashes, but the chime doesn't sound. This is a good idea (for those idiots who think that if they press the bell multiple times, you'll answer the door quicker!), but why not write that into some instructions, so people don't think it's playing up? Apart from the above minor admin issues, if you've been looking for a doorbell for your dog, i really recommend these. Good kit.

So simple to install and set up. Lots of choice with chimes and tunes. Works great with the door contact sold separately, giving a different sound for doorbell and door opening chime. Some chimes and tunes are not so loud and we found that only the highest volume setting worked to our satisfaction. It’s great for moving the plug in sounder around the home so you don’t miss a caller if you’re upstairs as you can just plug it in wherever you are in the house and it still works just fine. The plug in sounder is small and unobtrusive as it’s not much bigger than a standard plug,

Easy plug in sensor. You might need to adjust the sensor. Mine kept going off, so moved it slightly till I was happy. I attached mine to a garden pot then just turned/ moved the pot to what suited me. I think I had leaves moving that would trigger it as well on a windy day. The plug is easy to use a little button on the side adjusts the volume.

I already had 2 of these. The batteries have lasted over 5 years!! They work excellently and keep my property safe. You can have different tones for each sensor. They also remember your setup after a power failure.

J'ai acheté ce produit pour surveiller les personnes qui entrent et sortent de mon épicerie. Il est arrivé rapidement et a été facile à installer. Cependant, j'ai vite remarqué qu'il ne sonnait pas toujours quand quelqu'un entrait dans la boutique. J'ai deviné que les piles devaient être changées, alors je l'ai fait et cela a fonctionné pendant un court moment. Cependant, il a rapidement cessé de fonctionner à nouveau. Je pensais que peut-être que les températures froides l'affectaient (mais il est conçu pour fonctionner à l'extérieur!), Alors je l'ai déplacé à l'intérieur mais il n'était toujours pas fiable. J'ai contacté le fournisseur qui m'a envoyé un document sur la façon de le réparer car apparemment, une petite pièce se détache (!! ??). Je l'ai démonté, réparé la petite pièce en place, changé les piles deux fois de plus depuis et cela ne fonctionne toujours pas tout le temps. Ce n'est pas fiable et c'est une perte de temps et d'argent. Le fournisseur ne m'enverra pas de remplacement à installer avant de renvoyer le produit manifestement défectueux pour le test - c'est après que j'ai été favorable et coopératif en suivant leurs instructions pour réparer un produit qui n'aurait pas dû casser - ce n'est pas mon travail de réparer un produit défectueux - j'ai hâte de ne pas avoir de capteur en place dans mon entreprise. Économisez du temps, de l'argent et des efforts en achetant un produit différent. En raison du temps continu qu'ils ont perdu à me demander de réparer un produit défectueux, le délai de retour a expiré et je ne peux pas récupérer mon argent.
