Works well, just wish the cable was longer
This card reader does exactly what you’d expect. It works well on both Mac and Windows with no issues. Speeds seem pretty good, definitely fast enough for my workflow. It’s easy to use and feels solid. The only downside is the cable—it’s pretty short, so depending on your setup, that might be annoying. But overall, it’s a great value and gets the job done.

Durable and Easy to Use
Right away the first thing I noticed is the quality of this product. Made of durable metal the product is built to withstand being carried from location to location. Utilizing the USB 3 platform as well as HDMI this card captures great quality videos from our video camera to our computer and allows for great digitalization of our memories. I highly recommend this simple and economical video capture card.

Great Value Cfast Reader
My testing shows this reader has both a read and write speed of about 40MB/s with a 3.0 connection tested with a Cfast 2.0 Silicone Power card. Very good speeds. The reader is only limited by the USB 3.0 technology. If you need faster speeds, get the new express version of this reader but make sure your device has the proper express connections to get those higher read / write speeds. The Unitek Cfast reader has a compact minimalist design and is a professional looking device. I do wish the outer casing was aluminum but I'm not sure if I would be willing to sacrifice the light weight. You can easily hang this from your laptop as a dongle and it would not risk damage to the usb port.

Compared to Angelbird
Just did a bench test offloading a 512GB CFAST 2.0 card simultaneously to two Samsung T5 SSD drives on MacBook Pro. All using T3 or USBC cables, no adapters. I used Shotput Pro to replicate and verify the data. The result was similar to the Angelbird CFAST reader, clocking in around 34 minutes. Solid performance and well constructed. The cable that came with it was junk and did not work. I will definitely keep one or two of these readers in my kit. Great price for the performance.

Couldn’t ask for a better build quality
Extremely well built, it’s the only reader that I know will handle my data with care. Even the included cable is surprisingly rugged, great packaging too!

Pretty Straightforward, BUT...
Includes two cables, one is USB-C and one is a regular USB ("USB-A"). Both cables are only a foot long though, which I find a little annoying. Here's the thing - they don't need to be longer, they just need to be EITHER longer or shorter. A one foot cable is a very annoying cable. It'll dangle off the edge of a small table/desk (or if you're using it on top of your lap), putting just a little constant stress on your port and putting it at risk of just getting knocked right out. If the cable was longer, you could wrap the whole thing back around the computer and prevent the dangle. If it was shorter (a stick maybe, instead of a cable), it would support its own weight with a more rigid interior. The short cable is silly. Aside from that, it's fine. Plug and play, works with all my devices, no transfer issues, etc.

DOES NOT WORK with Angebird 1TB cards.
Bought this for transferring clips from a 1TB and 512 GB Angebird Cfast card. The reader did not recognize either card. Ended up having to buy Angebird’s Cfast 2.0 reader instead. That one works well and is high quality.
