I bought one last year and it was great. After five months, I forgot it somewhere and when I went back to get it, it had disappeared :(. So, I just bought another one since I was very happy with it. The main shaft is made of fiberglass which helps to keep the weight low, but I wouldn't consider it a lite weight umbrella; however I carry it with me almost everywhere since I live in a place that rains most of the year. It definitely keeps me dry when everyone else is getting drenched. Overall, it has a good construction without using much metal. I recall having it open in a windy day and I was getting pulled off of the ground instead of the umbrella turning inside out or breaking (I had both of these happen to my previous umbrellas - interestingly while writing this review I noticed that the care instructions indicates "Carry umbrella facing into the wind - use caution in strong gusts to prevent frame damage").

Extremely poor quality umbrella for the price but my wife insisted on spending the money in exchange for style on the baseball field. When she received it she immediately commented on the quality but we both agree the design is cool. The quality is so poor that she only intends to use it occasionally because we both know it isn't going to last more than one season. If you are buying for looks you will enjoy. If you are buying for quality and durability look elsewhere.

Seriously, this is a fantastic umbrella As other posters have mentioned it is huge! Usually with a baby, my purse and other bags I'm toting around, normal size umbrellas don't cover everything I'm carrying. This umbrella covers me and everything I've got in hand. It's a great color also, it looks just like the picture. It's also very sturdy and feels well built. Definitely would recommend.***UPDATE****It's been 4 years and this umbrella is still holding up strong. Aside from it having a few dirt marks, it still works as well as it did when I purchased it.

I didn't realize how big this umbrella was going to be--I was expecting a large normal umbrella, when in fact this is a full-fledged golf umbrella. I feel a little silly with it if it's only sprinkling. That said, I hate getting rained on, and I often carry my laptop with me, so this is a great umbrella for keeping me and my stuff dry. You could easily fit two people under it if need be. The handle is nicely cushioned, and the fabric and pole are of good quality and seem like they'll last (I've only had the umbrella for about a month). Since it's so big, though, it is a bit heavy, so I wouldn't recommend it for a petite woman, say, or a child. When the umbrella is closed, the tips tuck into a spring-loaded little cup down by the handle, so that if you set it upright on the floor it's not splaying out everywhere. Highly recommended if you want to stay nice and dry and don't mind carrying around a big walking stick when it stops raining. Not recommended if you're tiny, need to walk down narrow alleyways in the rain, or if you prefer to be stealthy in any way.

If you are familiar with the Haas-Jordan of the past....this is not the same. However, it is a good buy if it has the same quality. The ribs appear to be high impact plastic and the shaft fiberglass. As with the classic design and there is no venting...so you need to keep the crown of the umbrella facing the wind. The diameter is 54" which is slightly smaller than those some of you may be familiar with. I had an older golf course logo'ed Haas-Jordan and it mus have been a 60+ inch. Whenever it rained I simply placed the opened umbrella shaft into to carry bag (with legs), braced the bag and umbrella making sure it was facing the wind and crouched or sat down and sometimes just put my towel down and sat out the rain squall.

I was really excited to get this, I wanted a big giant SOFT BRIGHT YELLOW umbrella, not a mustardy color, similar to the color of the stars being rated on here. Ughh! I can’t believe I wasted my gift card on this and paid for fast shipping so I caloujd get it sooner. Yes it’s huge and that awesome, but I really wanted it to be a more buttery yellow and it’s just not. May return it if I can’t stand it enough. I do like how large it is tho. I’m 5’3” and I can fit under it like it’s a tent, so that’s pretty cool.

This thing is BIG. I bought this for sitting out watching football practice and games...tired of getting wet and want to be there to support my kid. This thing covers! First time I used it, it rained only a few minutes, but then it got cold. I stuck the handle in the cup holder of my camp chair, and it made a great "tent" of sorts to hold most of the wind off my back and definitely kept me warmer. We are from Denver, so of course we had to have orange, even though the hubby is a Patriots fan. Bought two...so far so good on holding up. This is not one of those that collapses down, so you have a full length stick the whole time.

After searching the Internet for yellow umbrellas to give my wife, I finally settled on this one. It looked like a decent, well made umbrella and was actually cheaper than the poor quality HIMYM "original" umbrellas with vastly inflated prices - and it is. The handle isn't curved (as in HIMYM), but it is comfortable and grippy. The umbrella is big, and can comfortably house two people, which is great for me, as usually when the wife has an umbrella, I have rain on my head. No longer! - but this is no small dainty umbrella, and I could see it being too big for some.I was a little worried about the shipping time (estimated delivery to UK - a month!) but I tried my luck and it arrived in 7 days. The important part is that my wife loves it. 5 stars right there.

The fibre glass shaft is extremely reliable, and the rubber tip is a great feature of the umbrella, since you can confidently rest it against the wall without fear of the umbrella slipping. The handle is comfortable to hold, and soft to the touch. I prefer straight handles to hook handles since the umbrella looks sleeker that way, but the trade off is you have to find another way to carry umbrella while it is not raining.The seams are well put together. The sturdiness is a definite 5 stars. I have the chance to test the sturdiness in the crazy spring windy rains and the umbrella did not turn into a bowl! Phew! Everything works well for my 5 usages. I got the black one so can't really speak for the colour sustainability. The umbrella also has an apparatus to hold all the tips in place once closed, that helps ease the carrying and storing. There is a pouch to go with that, which I don't think was mentioned in the description. Definitely a welcomed addition.I just wish the opening process would be done via a press of a button, but for the price, I must not complain.

I've enjoyed using this so far. It holds up well in the wind (it hasn't slipped upside down like flimsier umbrellas I've owned), and it certainly is large enough to provide good protection from the rain. My only complaint is that it does not had a hook on the handle; as this is a large and somewhat cumbersome umbrella, such a handle would make it possible to put over one's arm or grasp it more easily. I would definitely recommend it for heavy rainstorms, but it certainly can't be thrown in a purse or bag in case of emergency.

Great umbrella. Perfect bright yellow colour. Very big when open. I think it measures like 48". Only complaint is that it's not the most intuitive thing to open. You have to pull down on the disc holding in the bottom of the spines to release them and then reach inside the umbrella to push the whole thing open. Once you figure it out it's easy enough from there. Would buy again.

I've ordered this umbrella before, just in a different colour. I liked the previous one so much I decided to get two more! The build quality is decent and is great for couples and families with a toddler. The umbrella is big enough to accommodate myself, my wife and my toddler in my arms.I rated this 4/5 star as one of the umbrella came with an umbrella bag holder while the other didn't. I didn't want o send it back just because of that as the umbrella still functions well.I have recommended this umbrella to lots of family members.

I used this umbrella for the better part of three years before the handle broke during a heavy wind. It was durable and it always kept me dry. As other reviewers have noted, it is REALLY big — easily big enough for two people — so you need to be mindful of others when walking. The only downside was that it is pretty heavy to carry when it's not raining!

This umbrella looks strong and sturdy, and it's nicer in real life than in the pics.But be warned, it's MASSIVE.Be sure to check the dimensions before you order.

Very large and sturdy golf umbrella. It is large enough that in addition to normal uses as an umbrella, you can just open it and crouch behind it as a blind, or move forward on game. Everything I needed.

Keeps me dry when it's raining. So it works as intended. Good solid construction (won't bend over or collapse in the wind) and it looks great as well. It is pretty big, so you might have trouble walking on crowded sidewalks as you try to avoid poking other people's eyes out.

I bought this more expensive umbrella for my husband as a gift. Unfortunately, after only a few (maybe 4) uses, one of the ribs detached from the top hinge and made it useless. I contacted Amazon, and they allowed me to return it for a full refund. Good for Amazon, bad for Haas-Jordan!

Seems to be of high quality and worth spending a few extra dollars then on some lower priced umbrellas. The price is still more then reasonable and I use it all the time and stands up to some heavy weather. Very good size and my wife and I can both fit under it in a pinch.
