Aurora LightPad Mini

I live in Alaska, and the Aurora LightPad Mini has been a game-changer for those dark winter days. We keep one in the shared station at our restaurant, and everyone appreciates how it instantly boosts their mood and energy levels. It’s really bright—but that’s exactly what we need here in the far north. Even just a short session during a break seems to make the workday a little lighter (pun intended). It’s compact, easy to move around, and simple to use. If you’re looking for a way to bring a bit more light (and cheer) into your winter routine, this device definitely does the job.

Editing my review from yesterday. I received the light yesterday, but was concerned that the unit was getting too hot. Customer service got ahold of ME to see how I liked the light so far and if I had questions or concerns. I told them about the back of the unit getting very hot and they said they would send me out another unit TODAY along with a return label to ship the other back to them! Awesome customer service! As for the light, I love it. It's just the right size, and can be adjusted with the included stand to many different angles. I LOVE that you can be a full 2 feet away from the light and still reap the benefits of the 10,000 lux! I noticed a difference after the very first use in my energy levels and alertness. I plan to use this everyday til spring!

Learned the very hard way

I bought a light box recommended by my doctor because I have Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). I use the light box in the morning, and it has helped. What really helps in addition is sitting out in actual sunlight. Everyone's level of SAD is obviously different. What I LOVE about this little light pad are several things: you can take it anywhere, very lightweight, LED lights, three settings of brightness, cools off very quickly after turning it off, small as shown in the photo and easy to set up. I checked out numerous products and found this (at the time I bought it) to be the only one using LED lights and the price was reasonable. After I reported back to my doctor, she is now recommending this product to her other patients who have SAD, based on my rating of it, which is A+++.

This light met every expectation I had. About the size of a Kindle, it has three settings for brightness, a separate and very sturdy stand, and it plugs directly into any wall socket. Easy to operate, good quality. I got it on sale, which was a plus. And, best of all, IT WORKS for ME!!! I sit in the light for a half hour every morning as soon as I get up, and it really does help with SADD and those types of related disorders. I tend not to need it on days when there is full sun outside, but during the winter and during long weeks of gray skies in the spring, it has been a real lifesaver for me. Highly recommended!

First of all, it really is the size of your hand (the picture doesn't lie, yet somehow I expected it to be bigger). Second, it was just blindingly, excruciatingly BRIGHT. I was thrilled that it had 10,000 lux and would be more effective--but even across the room, both my daughter and I were unable to be anywhere near it. No exaggeration--it caused pain, and many minutes of retinal "shadowing" afterward when you looked away. Had to return it. Maybe it was the LEDs, or maybe we both (having extreme near-sightedness) have unusually light-sensitive eyes. (I sometimes have to wear sunglasses even on bright overcast days.) The unit seemed to be solidly built, if (again) awfully small for the price. Good luck to others with stronger eyeballs.

The Aurora LightPad Mini is incredible. It is so simple to set up and begin using. Just a tap of the finger and you can adjust the brightness. I have it on a little table where I like to read in the morning and it is so simple to pack up and take to work if I want to use it there. Having such a small compact one is the best! I look forward to many bright and happy days ahead as I enter the long winter season. I have told all my friends so I am sure they will love it as well. Life is good now that I have my new LighPad mini!

Very bright and compact. I’m really pleased with this light, it’s the brightest sad light I’ve ever had and the colour is close to sunlight. I suppose It’s similar to the litebook sad light but far brighter and better designed, for instance the stand can be adjusted to almost any vertical angle. I guess it would have been nice if it ran on batteries but it’s affect is my main concern. The brightness button is a bit sensitive and there’s no timer (timer not an issue) that’s about it niggle wise.
