LLC: Books Review: Fighting For the Family - My wife and I saw the movie that this novel is based on when it was first released. We enjoyed it so much that I wanted to read the book. I finally got the opportunity and was again blown away by the powerful story of the impact one person can have on others. Chris Fabry has done an excellent job of turning the movie into an exciting book. This moving story of a marriage that was ready for the trash heap stirred me deeply as Miss Clara begins to share with Elizabeth about her prayer life and Elizabeth begins to grasp the principles that Miss Clara is pouring into her life. So often someone touches our life and we sense something special there but we move on and soon forget it. Elizabeth listened and decided she had nothing to lose since she felt at the end of her wits. For most people, they see a new discipline as an all or nothing proposition. From my perspective, Elizabeth seemed to start slowly, testing out what Miss Clara shared. As she saw a bit of light, she was encouraged to go deeper. Before long, she is all in and seeing the true power of prayer. By that point her daughter and her husband have started to notice some changes. Although this is a novel, I believe it accurately portrays the impact that sincere, honest prayer can have in a life, a marriage, a home, and beyond. I encourage you to read this book, whether or not you have seen the movie. You will find it worth your time. Review: Don’t be luke warm - We should grow to love prayer. I very much enjoyed reading the war room. Inspirational, cried, laughed. Makes me want I have my own more room not just a she shed anymore, but a War Room. The power of prayer is powerful., I wish people wouldn’t shy away from the Bible and learning about, it’s just basic life guidelines, lesson, have faith trust and be good, to have the best life possible is possible. Life doesn’t have to be hard. Well written, thank you

I Loved This Book!
I loved this book because the story was engaging and one that many readers could relate to; a story of a struggling marriage, a spouse flirting with temptation, children suffering silently and no one willing to change first because pride ruled their hearts. The story takes the reader through the process of God softening and changing the hearts of many characters in this novel, even some characters the reader wasn't expecting to see changes in. What I enjoyed most about this book is that prayer is thoroughly explained throughout this book. The author takes great pains to emphasize that prayer is not for God's benefit but rather our benefit. When we as Christians take the time to seek the Lord with all our heart, He is able to change us from within. The beauty of this story is that it speaks the truth by emphasizing we can't change others, we can only change ourselves, and genuine change comes by repentance and submission to the Lord. If I had one complaint about this book, it would be the frequent references of skin color when introducing characters. Let's get past that, ok? Otherwise this is a great novel that has inspired me to make my own "prayer closet"! I look forward to seeing the movie when it comes out as well!

War Room
I liked the clear, concise story that had strong characters and plenty of development. I thought that the scriptures addressed were interwoven very well; they seemed to be quoted accurately and were placed appropriately where they were relevant. I found most scenarios totally believable. The scene with the thief, the repentance agreement with Tonys boss, and the inexplicable sour stomach seemed convenient for the sake of the plot, but stranger situations have occurred to serve God's purposes, so I wasn't put off. Ms. Clara's character feels a little contrived, but I strongly suspect that's because she is a rare (but not impossible) type of character. I would probably recommend this for mature Christians and people who have mature Christian friends, as the story may raise some questions or expectations or flat out ridicule among new and non believers.

Well worth the wait
I've been excitedly waiting for this book to come out as I wanted to read it before the movie is released. It was well worth the wait I finished it in 24 hours, I hated having to stop reading to do other things, like sleeping lol To me this book is a powerful reminder of several things, I will name a few. It's a reminder that we're often mistaken about who the real enemy is. It's a reminder to listen for God's voice so he can direct us in how he wants to use us to help others and ourselves. It's a reminder that God's word is alive and just as active as it ever was but we need to know and apply it to our lives. It's a reminder of how powerful prayer is, that we need to take time to use this weapon to intercede for others. But at the same time we need to spend time alone with God in quietness and prayer, so he can reveal to us his nature and what he wants on us to learn. We are his representatives in this fallen world, we can choose to either be trained to use his armor or we can go through life not fully realizing how much our Heavenly Father loves us and wants to be connected with us in every part of our life's Im my opinion everyone needs a prayer warrior like "Miss Clara" in their life. And should strive to be that close to God. I believe anyone who reads this book will be encouraged to move forward in their walk with God. While this book may be fiction, it's also true to life. God works in his way, in his time. Even when we can't see what he's doing he is still working and while we may not realize it at first, he's doing a work in our hearts as well as our circumstance. Read this book I know you will be blessed Raise them up Lord. Raise up more prayer warriors!

A wonderful book that kept my attention all through. A wealth of wisdom that drives me to my knees for families suffering. I saw the film first and was delighted the makers did not see it necessary to change the text. (Unlike The Vow)

Melhor livro de ficção cristã de 2015. Muito bem escrito e mexe com a nossa fé em um jeito positivo. Simples, cativante e poderoso. Nível iniciante de inglês para leitura e compreensão.

Prayer is the most valuable tool for a christian and very important for your spiritual life. The book touches on who the real enemy in life is and its not your family/spouse. It will teach you how to fight properly, something we all need to learn. This is why i gave it a rating of 5 stars. Sadly though, and i hate to write anything critical as the subject of the book is spot on, but the writing style specifically is not strong, has a slight amaterish feel to it; thus, I would recommend watching the movie instead, as it is incredible.
