Great way for the younger set to learn coding in a fun and adventurous manner. A very good fun learning tool that keeps the children involved.

My son loves this rocket. He learned how to code it in minutes. I love that it teaches easy to learn first step coding.

This is a horrible product. Installed it and after 10 minutes with my son the product stops working. Coding window button to run code greys out and NOTHING fixes it. My son is waiting the entire day for this project and it's junk. DO NOT PURCHASE the products of this company - you'll be asking for dissapointment.

We found a few coding books in the past for my kids, but because I have no coding knowledge, I was struggling with how to teach it to my kids. My kids could go through this and use it without me understanding it, which is a huge pro in my book. It's more durable than I first thought it would be. I was worried it would not hold up to kids using it, but it has lasted with no wear and tear and holds up incredibly well we have had it for over a year now and I have 6 kids so there has been a lot of opportunity for damage. As far as the lessons I would say on average each lesson takes 15-20 minutes, but there's a lot of opportunity to play around with it, so that's where you get a lot more bang for your buck.

Kids will use coding to control features on the rocket - LED lights, speaker, buttons, etc. The set-up was fairly simple (the free software requires Windows, Mac or a Chromebook computer to work). There are 20 different projects that help kids learn about C++ coding as they go along. As kids see how the programming controls their rocket, they will receive immediate feedback with the rocket's lights, buttons, speakers, etc. Your child will have access to online videos that will help them see how the code and concepts work. I love this! I love that students can jump into Code Rocket without any experience. This is such a great resource and it just might release the inner coder in your child. Definitely recommend.

Before Code Rocket, my daughter's only experience was with programs that pretty much do the work for you such as MIT's Scratch or coding toys that spell everything out for you and you just do minimal work. This project dives so much deeper, teaching your child eight and older how to configure the code directly from their computer. Now that she has been introduced to coding, and has fallen in love with it, she has been joining in on the coding class that her brothers are taking.

We used this kit as a family to begin learning text based programming. It was a great introduction for ages 7, 11, 13. Some of the kids launched into other coding activities after using the Code Rocket. The instructions were easy to follow on the website and the kids enjoyed seeing a physical product respond to the code they were typing on the computer.
