My Weird School Series

Good for kids to read. It's also funny. I highly recommend this time everyone who has a kid who can read.

Great reading series for young children. It’s an easy read and funny as well. Liked the one so much we bought the whole set.

My kids loved these books. My sons name is AJ and my daughters name is a daisy lol. Aj is just like AJ in the book so he connected with the book from the first page.My son does not like reading and since we read the first one he got into reading the others by himself and now he is reading without me forcing him to read.Loved these funny ones

This is the best book in the series! My 7 yo loved the silly lines, and as a reluctant reader, he didn’t want to put it down.It does grab kid’s attention, but some of the silly language bugged me. I didn’t like how the character “hated school” and would call other kids “dumb.” Maybe I am more sensitive to this because I am a teacher, so I spoke to my son about this beforehand and how some of the interactions were unkind.

This book makes difficult boys like to read. This what it was intended for. However, it is also a good read for "good girls". The vocabulary and the story is tailor-made for the second grade. It really develops child's reading skills. It has some good jokes that second graders understand and laugh at. The one about why "butt" is singular even though it is divided into two halves was particularly hilarious. Characters are well developed, unique, and memorable. A.J., the narrator, who hates school, Andrea, smarty pants, Emily, the cry baby, Principal Klutz, and Miss Daisy are all very likable. Subjects and themes include many fields, from football to psychology. I recommend the Kindle version, since it worked well for me.

I bought this as a first day of school gift for a third grader. The book itself is funny. Hopefully, it will help to instill the love for reading and want my third grader to read the next book in the series as soon as he/she finishes this one. All the Weird School books are awesomely written and great for children learning to read "chapter books"!

My daughter is obsessed. She’s 14 and has a significant brain injury. Her (former) neurologist said she’d never read. With Dan Gutman she won’t put it down!!!

These books are hilarious. My nephew is in the 1st grade and has read 2 books of these. I’m super proud of his reading, he’s improving his pronunciation on a lot of words, able to read difficult words and enjoys reading. Over all these books are awesome for children will be ordering the whole set.
