MTech USA MT-632 Series Fixed Blade Tactical Neck Knife, 6-Inch Overall

Before buying this knife, I read ALL of the Reviews and the description, like I always do, so I was aware that this was a small neck knife. Not just that, but had it been a life-sized knife I would not have bought it, I bought it 'just because' it was different. Seeing it online, I at first thought that it was larger, but after I read about it, I knew, this was a cool little knife. I don't plan on using it at all, I just liked the thought of it being a "cool little knife", and that is the only reason that I bought it. In my estimation, there is not one little negative thing about the manufacturing of the knife, it's VERY SOLID for what it is. So, after giving it a once over, I decided that I am really glad that I did buy it, it's made very sturdy, the blade is sharp, the size can be used for opening packages, envelopes, or, literally what it was made for, being a neck knife, or, like me, just to look at it occasionally. While I do agree that this provided chain is not ideal for a neck knife, it would be possible to use a smaller diameter cord, or, a smaller diameter leather strap that could fit in the smaller hole that the chain is now. (You may have to remove 'some' of the innards if you use paracord to make it fit the smaller opening) If you jerked on the knife removing it from the (cheap plastic, but very well made) sheath, that chain will break the very first time. My knife is REALLY hard to get out, it's a lot harder to remove than it needs to be, but with enough use I am sure that this will loosen up slightly after time. Using this as a boot knife could work, but you would need something to attach it to your shoe/boot 'somehow'. It's not really made for that, but it is feasible, I guess, if a person would want. There are MUCH BETTER boot knives out there, anyway... I can't tell, as one other Reviewer mentioned, that this is not a full tang knife, I just assumed that it wasn't. It could be, but I wouldn't bet on it, BUT, it's plenty secure in that handle. I tried wiggling it to see if there was any movement, but there was none. For what it is, it's good enough, and for the asking price (for me, it was $8.65) and I am happy about my purchase. Really, it is what it is, a very small, but nice, little knife that I would definitely buy again if I had to. Is it a Rambo quality knife? Nope, but it shouldn't even be considered one. :) Anyway, I have gone on way too long about a little, inexpensive, but seemingly well-made knife that can be used or, not used, it's up to you. Just make sure to read the ENTIRE description before you buy, and you will be informed enough to make a decision, and no surprises, I would think.

The value for dollar is unbeatable. It’s easy to use. The knife has complaints about size but for baby bayonet purposes you win. It barely weighs anything. The knife build is solid for it not being full tang.

I just can't get this little dagger to take an even halfway decent edge! I've tried and tried! I say "hit or miss" in the title because of the other MTech dagger I have, which came much more sharp right out of the box! No sharpening needed! But this one, of similar design and size, arrived with rather dull and literal lackluster edges! I didn't return it because I was confident I'd have those edges respectable in no time! Wrong! I'm no pro, but I do have 7 different types of sharpeners, and none of them have gotten it anywhere close to the edges of the other! It has me baffled! It's no good at cutting anything! Useless! The handle is hard, brittle, plastic. Blade is the length of my middle finger, with handle it reaches to the middle of my palm. I've got 10+ knives currently, this is the dullest! Probably had more than 40 in my life, and all were easier to hone an edge than this! Skip it, unless you just want something cheap and lightweight! Who knows, you might get lucky and receive one sharp from the factory?

Many peeps seem surprised at the diminutive size of this knife...why I don't know. The dimensions are clearly stated in the M-Tech ad. This is a neck knife, not a toy. It is sized appropriately for a neck knife. See my pics for comparisons to three very popular neck knives from other brands and you will see what I am talking about. I have extra large hands and I can get three fingers on the handle which is acceptable for a neck knife. The grip is rubbery and feels good in the hand. The sheath is very well done with lots of lashing points. There is a nub on the throat of the sheath that interacts with a depression on the handle to lock it in just right. It will not come loose when carrying upside down around your neck, yet it is easy to draw just by giving it a yank. I got the drop point version, which is actually a clip point modeled after the ka-bar marine fighting knife, and the dagger style. The dagger style came much sharper out of the box and I was able to cut paper with it. The ka-bar style "drop point" came with slightly uneven grinds and was fairly dull. This blade is an 1/8" thick and saber ground, so the angle of the edge is quite thick. I am estimating in the range of 30 to 35 degrees. I worked on it for about 2 hours on my paper wheels and diamond sharpening stones before finishing up on a ceramic rod. At the end of all that I got it to around a 22 degree secondary bevel where it would cut paper if I used just the right technique. I docked one star for this issue. All in all a better neck knife than the reviews indicate. Recommended at the low price of 8 bucks if you don't mind using a little elbow grease to fine tune the edge. Or just get the dagger style, which came sharp.

FOR WHAT IT IS, it's a pretty neat little knife. I paid almost four bucks for this tiny knife, and I thought it was a pretty good deal for (basically) a novelty knife that could actually be used, in a modest fashion. But other reviewers (apparently) expected a full-sized war knife.. For six bucks.. Personally I wouldn't give much more than that for it. But this little knife would be a quick choice over one of those CRKT S.P.E.W. knives that demand thirty bucks, or more.. Original review: Not exactly scalpel sharp, but definitely sharp enough to cut out a picture from an advertisement or something. Great novelty gift idea for anyone that owns the real deal. I wouldn't try to EDC this thing for any kind of serious use, but it is very light weight and it is sharp enough to cut through Amazon packages, if you think you might need a little knife for that kind of thing. The little scabbard does hold onto it pretty well, though I still wouldn't expect any hard service use from it.

It's so cute. It looks like a tiny miniature toy. I don't feel the handle is large enough to grip firmly enough to use as a real knife. Still, I can't believe this could be produced and sold for $5.99. I have a new rough and rugged looking letter opener. (Makes you wonder about prices of everything else.)
