I inherited a cheap sectional aluminum flag pole that came with mostly plastic hardware, all pretty much rotten. I bought this kit based on it's good reviews, and I'm glad I did. It was high quality. The four swivel clips appear to be stainless, the flagpole cap was thick cast aluminum (for 2" pole) with 3 stainless screws for mounting. The pulley itself was just ok, riding on a pressed in role pin. That part could have probably been better, but it works fine and any less friction would just make the flags fall quicker anyway, which wouldn't be better. The rope appears to be good quality, and the 6" cleat was stainless and high quality, coming with 2 stainless screws. The brass ball seems to be two halves that are separate but loosely joined together. This needs improvement, and has that basic feel of plastic easter egg halves that don't seem to fit together great. But it does get the job done, and shouldn't be a show stopper. I just think a 1-piece ball would be better. The color is a darker gold, not a shiny brass. It is darker than the pictures show. It comes with an anodized stud and aluminum anodized nut that's color matching. The shank of the stud was long enough that the solar light kit I purchased fit perfectly on it's 1/2" shaft. Overall, the kit was good quality and arrived fast. l would recommend it.

This kit is of high quality and is a good value. I use it with a 32’ pole and a 5’ x 8’ nylon flag. Because my pole and flag are large and located in a high wind area, I replaced the halyard with a longer 5/16” polyester rope with a braided steel core made specifically for use as a flagpole halyard (purchased from Amazon).

My old aluminum flagpole broke due to high winds. I purchased two 10' pieces of 2" EMT conduiit from Lowe's and used this to turn it into a flagpole. It works great! The parts were easy to install and made the conduit look like a regular flagpole. Five stars!
