Awsome Transmitter, Great Value
I read all the reviews on this model, and the step-up model that included the rechargeable battery pack (newer model). Went with this one based one the reviews that said it felt better in the hand due to the non-rechargeable battery heft in the base. I could not agree with this more after using. Installed in our almost 20 year old Traxxas Emaxx #3906 (vintage ha!). The original radio was twitchy and we decided to revamp the Emaxx with a new steering servo, wheels, and radio. Did not want to break the bank on an old RC, and this model is perfect for our setup. 3 channel which means we can still use the old servo actuated low gear on channel-3. Hooked up in less than 10 minutes- the receiver is about 1/3 the size of the original Emaxx receiver, too funny. Out of the box, had to reverse the steering servo channel on the transmitter, and adjust the ABS setting on the throttle channel, and lastly the trim on the steering channel. Once I figured out how to navigate the menu system of the transmitter (seems kind of hard at first), dialed in the correct settings, and good to go. Could not be happier. Transmitter actually feels better in hand than the one the Fly Sky one that came with our new Redcat Shredder. I see you can actually bind this transmitter to the receiver in the Shredder, so I may use this controller for both models. Love it. Great bang for the buck. Transmitters have come a long way since I was into RC's 20 years ago.

A good value, not the most durable but great for the cost.
I’ve been using this remote for a variety of projects, from rock crawlers to air boats to test rigs for new build prototypes- it works great. It’s a good cheap controller that’s easy to use and has plenty of functions for what I need it to do. Some of the buttons are a little flimsy, but nothings caused me any problems and for what I paid I am happy with the results.

perfect to replace lost RC transmitter
I used this for an old Traxxas Stampede that was given to me without a remote; it works perfectly and now i'm enjoying ripping around the yard with this 20yr old RC! The receiver is small so finding a place to mount it was easy, and has nice features for the price.

Good setup for kids
This was purchased to replace my grandson’s transmitter and receiver for a cheap remote control truck. I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money so I ordered this combo. It is a much better system than the original, and it seems to work just fine. With the purchase of a new speed controller, I can now use Lipo batteries instead of just the original Nicads. Good set up for the money.

One ring to rule them all…..
Great remote capable of running 10 rigs (with extra receivers sold separately, about $10 a pop). I’m not crazy technical, and this is EASY to set up and fine tune your settings. I have yet to run out of range almost a full block away with the antenna down. The only drawbacks I’ve found is that it feels “cheap”. It’s light weight and all plastic. And unless your thumbs are 5 inches long, you cannot use this one handed. That being said, this is about the best bang for your buck, especially if you plan on having a few RC kits.

One transmitter for all of my cars!
I bought this and several receivers for all of my RC cars to run off of one transmitter. Each car is set up to its own specs. So if one of these can run all of my RC fleet, why did I buy another one? Because my buddy has a fleet of his own and I wanted to share the experience! The biggest downfall I've seen is the battery situation. It takes 8 AA batteries which are heavy and expensive. There is a 'hack' for using a 3s lipo if you're willing to take apart a new transmitter and solder some wires. Overall, this is a amazing transmitter and I highly recommend it to anyone.

It's good but
It works well and it's inexpensive and seems to be fairly durable. Now for the cons It's pretty blocky and you feel it. It uses 8 AA batteries which is a lot of weight in the bottom of the handle and you feel it. The ergonomics aren't stellrr and you feel it. No doubt it works and is a good value for the money but honestly the feel in my average sized hand isn't great and I wish I just sucked it up and spent the money on something that was lighter and had a better feel to it. If it's what you can afford then go for it. If you can squeeze out more coin for something else I'd lean towards that.

This radio transmitter works great. My 11 year old son was able to install the transmitter in his RC car and got it up and running with no problems. However, the instruction manual is lacking. The transmitter has a lot of functionality, but the instructions don't really tell you how to access it. For instance, you can change a lot of settings such as the dual rate of the various inputs (such as throttle or steering), but you kind of have to fiddle with the remote and figure out how to do that because the instructions aren't going to help you at all. Additionally, the remove requires 8 AA batteries, which adds quite a bit of weight to the device. Overall, it's a good unit, especially for those on a budget, but want something with functionality. It fits comfortably in the hand and looks pretty nice to boot. But know that you will have to figure out most of the stuff for yourself and have a bunch of batteries handy to power it. Additionally, we noticed that it has an "Charge" port on the side of the remote... there is nothing in the manual about built in batteries, nor is there a cable to plug into it.
