OBDLink EX FORScan OBD Adapter

My 2020 Mustang has stiff suspension. The adaptive cruise uses a radar sensor that has two ball mounts and a singled lower bolt bracket. One of the ball mounts popped loose pushing the sendsor out of place which disabled adaptive cruise and automatic emergency braking. Quickly diagnosed the issue with the scanner. --- Then applied for a 2 month free extended license (just search "forscan support request" copy in your scanner ID and they'll give you a 2 month trial!) --- - With the extended license I was able to run the Radar Alignment "Service" drove the car above 30mph for 5-10 minutes and the "Radar is not aligned" message disappeared!!! Service successful! and I've driven it a few times and the Adaptive Cruise works perfectly! --- --- This $70 it saved me a trip to a radar servicing center or worse a dealership that would've charged me HUNDREDS on top of costing me time which is precious! --- Compatible with most Ford Vehicles 1996+ (including mazda, lincoln & mercury) Installed the forscan software on a Windows 11 laptop and it worked perfectly. It provided perfect information I needed to resolve my issue. Connected via USB 2.0 just fine and was recognized immediately The software is easy to read and understand.

ODBLink EX Forscan cable works great with Forscan program, easy to install, easy to use. Long cable and quality build adapter. Featuring a High and a Medium CAN bus at the same time, no need to switch. Able to clear the codes, program modules, and add extra features.

This adapter has worked flawlessly on both my F-150 Lightning and my Mach-E. It easily paid for itself after the first use by allowing me to troubleshoot issues myself instead of heading to the dealer. Being able to access specific repair procedures is a huge bonus and a real money saver. It’s a 5-star tool for sure, though I do wish they offered a native USB-C cable option to match modern laptops without needing an adapter.

This is a good product and performs admirably once you get past a few nuances, for which it loses a star. Specifically, ignore the card (see pic) that comes with the cable for a red light. If you follow that link you’ll go to a page that constantly reloads itself (see pic). The key to making the OBDLinkEX cable work is in Forscan itself. At the risk of stating the painfully obvious, the vehicle needs to be running and the cable hooked up to your PC and ODBII port. Click ok on the no adapter warning (see pic) then click on settings (gear icon), then connection >> connection type >> COM (see pic). You can also select auto, but that didn’t work for me; your mileage may vary. Once done, click on the vehicle interface icon (top icon) and then the connect to vehicle icon bottom left of the screen. Forscan will try different COM ports until it finds the one it likes and the business end of the OBDLinkEX will go from red to green. At this point Forscan will start its interface and start a readout. You can also link to a Bluetooth OBDII reader by selecting Bluetooth in the connection drop down menu mentioned above and there are several youtube videos that show you how to do this. You might get a microsoft type warning about this being the wrong type of interface – caveat emptor.

Should have bought it sooner for my 17 F150 Platinum ecoboost. Got 197k now. Owned for 6 months or so and used 4 or 5 times. With this and FORScan I’ve disabled all beeps, no beep when I get out with key and close door, no more engine shutoff at stops, 5 clicks on light signal touch instead of 3 and more.

I got it yesterday used it on my 2010 ford mustang worked really good and easier then I thought read codes and cleared codes I would recommend it was compatible with my ford definitely worth the money

Very happy works perfect with FORscan - using on my dad’s 2019 Endura and had very comprehensive array of diagnostics. Originally had a BlueDriver which is just terrible
