This Mayfair Cassel slow close toilet seat is exactly what I was hoping for! The premium wood feels solid and looks much nicer than a basic plastic seat, and the slow-close hinge is fantastic — no more loud slams. It’s smooth and quiet every time. Installation was a breeze with the easy-install hardware, and the non-slip design gives extra stability so it stays secure. Cleaning is also much easier thanks to the easy-clean surface. If you’re upgrading your bathroom or just want a more comfortable, quality seat that doesn’t slam, this one is a great choice. Highly recommend!

After researching so many toilet seats, this one stood out! This is now the second one from Mayfair that I have purchased for my other bathroom, as the prior seat proved to be of excellent quality! I had evaluated plastic ones however most of the lids and seats seemed too flimsy/lightweight, and not substantial. I did have a plastic one in another bathroom, the lid was pretty thin and it took forever to close, therefore I elected to buy these (2) solid wooden ones - one being elongated, the other round and made by this highly rated manufacturer! Both were installed quickly (such a simple process)! I love the feature where the seats will never be able to loosen and that these seats can slide out for thorough cleaning! They are of excellent construction, finish and design, the soft close lids go down at a very good pace, and the seats feel much more solid, stable and secure. The pricing on them proved to be of great value, as other manufacturers had higher prices on less than comparable units! It is so obvious that these Mayfair toilet seats were built to last! I highly recommend, as a very satisfied buyer!!

This toilet seat is AWESOME! High quality enameled wood, round, white. All the things I wanted. I purchased a cheaper brand initially and that was a big mistake as the entire ordeal was horrible. So, I immediately jumped on Amazon and bought this one instead. I had already tossed my old toilet seat. I needed a replacement ASAP. Luckily, Amazon made good on their one-day delivery promise and I got this seat delivered the next afternoon less than 16 hours later. Very happy! It is VERY sturdy, has a soft close feature, is super easy to clean, has a nice design, and looks great once installed. The best part about this toilet seat is that it is PERMANENTLY TIGHT. I can’t stand it when toilet seats start to loosen and shift around so you have to tighten them again and again. Well this one is completely different, and they mean when they say it won’t EVER loosen. The only way I could see this seat loosening is if the securing screw breaks, which is highly unlikely. As we all know, toilet seats don’t last forever. So how, you might ask, can you replace this seat if the sucker is permanently attached, hmm? Well that’s another cool feature! Just pop onto Amazon here and buy another of this exact seat. If you’re like me, you’ll buy several so you have them for future replacements in case of discontinued manufacturing. The seat has these little lever type things that you just slide open and the entire top of the seat will slide right out of its grooves! Kind of like taking a door off its jamb. This is also how you’d clean and sanitize the entire seat in an ergonomic manner, rather than bending over the bowl to do it. Your replacement seats you purchased would work the same since it’s the same model. Just pull off the top half from the unlocked position and install onto the toilet. The portion of the old seat that remains is only the securing screw… still super tight and clamped down. The inventor of this seat was a mad genius! I’ve never seen one like it but it’s definitely the ONLY seat I’ll buy going forward! READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! You WILL most definitely need a wrench of some sort to install this seat, NOT a screwdriver like most other types. The securing screw has to be tightened down enough on the underside of the toilet so that half of it literally snaps off which is how it becomes locked in place permanently. Only way to tighten it enough is with a wrench. Socket wrench recommended. This seat is NOT installed like typical seats, so pay close attention to how the arrows on the bolts face, which end of the snap screw to use, etc. I almost installed my seat upside down but caught it just in time. This is an important step because remember once the set screw is tightened and snaps off, it’s gonna be difficult/impossible to correct an alignment, orientation or position error. So go slow and get it right the first time. If installed correctly, it will fit perfectly and soft close like my video shows. Enjoy :) 12/15/22 UPDATE: I’ve had this toilet seat installed for 1.5 years. Do I still love it and stand behind my 5 star review? ABSOLUTELY!! The seat is STILL, 1.5 years later, as tight as the day I installed it in May 2021. I love this thing!! The underside of the seat is just barely starting to show some wear/tear for obvious reasons, which after 1.5 years of daily use, tells me how high quality craftsmanship this seat really is. I’ve recommended this to everyone I know! You should buy it, love it like I do, and tell your friends :)

Toilet seat is easy to install and once connected the fitting is secure/tight. I bought this specifically for the materials used, I wanted the sturdier wood material versus the plastic alternatives. The slow close feature is nice as well. The only weird thing to get used to is the slight crackling noise it makes when opening and closing the seat/lid. It may be part of the 'slow close' function, but it's unsettling as it sounds like something will eventually crack... but I don't think that's what I'm hearing. I just think the slow close mechanism is creating that sound as part of the tightness to enable to close slowly. Just not used to hearing it, as this is the first one of this type I've purchased. It seems secure and no issues. 10/07/25- Taking one star off, previous purchase (July 2024) lasted about 14 months and the hinge broke. Purchased another one because the quick release hardware is still good and replacing it was very easy, just wish it lasted longer.

It's all about the fit. Make sure you measure accurately. This toilet seat is solid and closes slowly and silently and looks good.
