has mtech stepped up their game
This little knife is descent. It came very sharp as evidence by the gash on my finger and it will do some everyday tasks very well. For people in certain cities where (gravity knives) are and issue this is completly legal period. It is small but it is serviceable for edc tasks and although it is cheap.....well so is a mora but an excellent knife just the same. No it is not a survival knife but it is a tool that has it's place and the neck knife role is where it lies. I have used mine often and have yet to resharpen it and once around my neck it totally disapears it is super light but very strong. I generally use small knives in the outdoors, I personally feel safer using them and I feel like I have alot more control and this little knife is a perfect complement to a 3 and a half to 4 inch sharp. Normally I have always run away from anything stamped mtech but I am happy I gave this one a look because as for this product tgwy stepped up their game. No the g10 is not the grippiest, no the steel is not the best but it cost 9.00 people and it is a usable piece of kit. My kydex sheath fit fine retention is ok to good and rhe ball chain has held up. One note and I will shut up..that funky spine dip at the blades tip is for finger placement(YES ALOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT)but alot of people dont know and may think it to be a flaw in the blade. Also not a childrens knife it is not a toy!!!!!!

great little pack knife
good little knife. this knife has a pretty good feel just a little small but i knew the size when i ordered. i got this for just a little solid knife to go with my camping gear. its small in size and lightweight so it can easily go anywhere. it came packaged well inside plastic in its own box. the sheath is nice hard formed plastic that grips the knife amazingly well. it snaps in very well and wont come out when slung around. the metal bead necklace is ok but i wouldnt wear this around my neck. i took it off. it did cross my mind though that due to the size of this knife and its sheath with the holes, it could probably fit well on the top of a shoe with the shoelaces looped through the holes in the sheath. could make it a nice boot knife lacing it in if youd like it strapped there.other than that, there is no clip or belt loop on the back of this sheath. the metal feels solid and strong but my blade feels pretty dull. ill for sure be sharpening it up. the handles are nice and dont feel cheap or flimsy at all. overall im happy with my purchase, i think this would make a great little pack knife.

Fun little thing
First off, I ordered this knife based off the price and somewhat good reviews as a test platform to see if I am a neck knife person, it would seem I am not. It does deploy quicker then a folder clipped to my pocket but not by much. Also, when out in public, I need to hide it under my shirt, slowing down how fast the knife can be drawn. A much larger folding knife can be clip in your pocket and no one thinks twice but hang a tiny blade around your neck and people look at you like you’re a crazy person. Others may have different experiences but for me, except for tactical or deep concealment scenarios, it’s not worth it. I intend to keep it as a handy little knife in the garden shad for when I’m out there without a blade. Please note that my opinion of neck knives has no barring on the rating given. The knife itself is a fun little thing, although you can’t truly appreciate how small it is till you hold it. Adding a small tether to the back is a must, for both control and helps prevent over gripping the knife when drawing, which can lead to your forefinger on the sharp edge. I gutted paracord about an inch from the end to thread through, then timed off the gutted part. The holes are very small. Replace the chain with cordage or a heavier ball chain, the supplied one is to light and tends to undo itself. It came with an ok edge, touched up fine but I’m not in love with the steal, however not bad for $9.00 and free shipping. The finger grove helps with grip but is very small causes a pretty good hotspot the working on heavier tasks, it can be a little uncomfortable. The sheath is great, well made and secure. Lots of modification options for carry, as others have detailed. As a southpaw, I love the fact that it’s not only ambidextrous but the etching it is on the left side (at least on mine). That doesn’t matter at all, but it is a vanity that I really experience. Overall thought on the knife is: not a bad find for the money, ok steal, fun little size. Please see the photos to help compare size. Also the cutting ability next to my EDC, the Spyderco Tenacious. The Spyderco of course did better but I was surprised how well the Microtech did with much cheaper steal.

Amazing little neck knife. Great sheath.
This guy right here. What an amazing little knife. It was quite sharp out of the box, though it will need a few minutes to get a razor edge on it. It will also not retain its edge for a long period, however it is not supposed to be used heavily. Thicker than you'd expect it to be, which is good. Handling it is not that comfortable, due to size. You could add a small lanyard to make it a bit better, but you will have to get used to it. It is a tiny neck knife, and for its size, it is pretty good. The scales are nice, but are not heavily textured, and thus do not provide much traction. The jimping and finger choil help with that, and you shouldn't use such a small knife heavily anyway. Torx 8 to remove. The sheath is surprisingly good, for what you pay. The knife fits perfectly, and the retention is excellent. There is no way the knife will come out unless you want it to. It also comes with a ball-bearing chain, which feels much better than the average cheap chains you expect to find on neck knives. At 4-3/4-inch overall length, it is quite small. Get your ruler, see how long that is, and make your mind before you order it. A lot of people do not look up sizes and get disappointed when items finally arrive. But I wasn't. I love it already!

Good knife for the money
A very nice neck knife with a sturdy blade and the exact same size as the Schf13SM by Schrade. Will do the same job and looks to be from the same factory! A little cosmetic difference between the two neck knives and different blade shape. Both perform very well at the same given tasks. I prefer the Schrade blade design over the MT 20-30. Sheaths are the same Kydex material and looks in similarity is amazing. Both knives come with a black ball chain which should be replaced with paracord immediately if you plan to use the knife in an aggressive manor. It's basically worthless. Repeated jerking the knife out to use will eventually cause the chain to separate or break at the clasp first. Paracord is the only way to go with this neck knife. Throw the chain in a drawer someplace and forget about it! There are differences in the two knives but very little that will affect the function it was designed for. In all it is a good bang for your buck and it will serve you well. Nevertheless I like it and will use it occasionally as it is a tough little knife and holds the edge fairly well. Came sharp enough to use right out of the box too!

Great neck knife at a great price!
I'm a veteran police officer, and I wanted a concealed neck knife with a full tang. This USA made knife is perfect for me. It is well made, sharp out of the box, and after wearing it for only a few minutes, I had already forgotten it was there. The kydex sheath holds the knife upside down really well, so I'm not worried about it falling out, but at the same time it's easy to draw. Also, I have average sized hands, so I tied a lanyard with some 550 cord (using three snake knots) for just a little extra grip at the end of the handle. I already like this knife enough that I will be carrying it all the time, both on and off duty. Finally, for 11 bucks and Prime shipping, you can't beat this knife for quality and value. You should definitely get it if you're looking for a good, small, concealable EDC knife.

MTech's MT0-20-30 micro knife is a fantastic EDC choice
The first thing you think of when you see this knife: What a sexy little knife! But don't let it's adorable size fool you, this is one mighty well crafted micro knife! The MTech MT-20-30 fixed blade micro knife delivers fantastic value and overall quality with it's 2inch out the box sharp drop point blade, full-tang construction, and it comes with a kydex sheath with attached neck chain. The knife is 4 3/4" in length overall, and weighs an approx. 3.2 back breaking ounces =) It comes out of the box nice and sharp, and I was impressed with it's quality considering it only costed me 9 bucks. MTech used a G10 style handle (excellent grip, even when wet), and the blade fits snuggly in the included kydex sheath. I love having this little guy with me throughout the day, and it's the only necklace that I would actually wear! This would be a perfect gift for any guy, and it's also a great every day carry choice, it would even fit it an altoid's tin survival kit if you decided to set one up. I will probably buy a couple more of these around the holidays, I'm glad to have added it to my knife collection.

Decent knife, & exactly the size as mentioned, but the photo of knife is misleading.
Well never judge a book by it's cover, and never assume the size of the knife is the same as the size of the photo of it. As you can see this is a tiny knife that literally fits in the palm of my hand. The knife comes with a decent neck chain, an awesome extremely high retention sheath, and it came surgically sharp straight out of the box. It has a low profile, and I actually can't even tell when I look at a mirror that I am even wearing this knife around my neck. It is heavy enough that I know it is around my neck when I first put it on and low enough weight that I tend to forget I am even wearing it. Considering I am living in Queens, NY, the state with the most knife restrictions in the entire USA, I am ok with it only having a 2 inch blade. To give you a better understanding of measurements, my hand from tip of middle finger to the bottom of my palm is 8 inches length. I shook the knife upside down several times and not once did the knife dislodge from its' sheath. But due to the fact I am not a trusting individual, I added a chain to lock the knife in place so that there is zero chance that a seat melt or a shoulder bag could accidentally dislodge the knife from the sheath. If the knife had a locking mechanism or moveable barrier to lock it in place I would have given this knife 5 stars
