Resourceful
These panels were a lifesaver. We just got 4 chicks this year, our first, and we had had them in a self made brooder box with pine shavings and a watering bucket from Tractor Supply. The chicks were growing so fast that we needed a larger area for them. These panels allowed us to make a larger place and were not bad looking. We were even able to use them to keep the chicks safe outside while we cleaned their brooder box. The PVC lamp holder seemed a little flimsy and we didn't use it. That is not to say it wouldn't work, our chicks where too big for the highest setting on it so it didn't seem safe (our chicks were about 5 weeks old). Easy to clean, my wife just took a hose to them and spread any poop off of them and then either wiped them down or just let them air dry.

This Brooder Kit Rocks! (Adjustable, Reusable, Easy to Clean, Great Size)
My husband and I have bought two of these brooder kits because they work well and grow with the chicks. Throughout the summer and early fall we hatched out a few batches of chickens and ducks to get our flock established. Many brooders were either very expensive, wouldn't grow with the babies as they got bigger, or were made of cardboard for a one or two time use before throwing out. The size of this brooder can be adjusted as it is made of interlocking plastic panels and they can be rearranged as desired. When all the panels are used the brooder is of a generous size that you can keep several chicks or ducks in until they are ready to go out to the coop. The walls are nice and tall so the ducks were never able to jump up and out, and the chicks have to be several weeks old (and not have their wings trimmed) before they can attempt to jump onto or over the walls. We would put chicken wire or temporary plastic fencing over the top of the brooder to avoid any escapees as the brooder was in an old garage on a utility table (we didn't have predators to worry about in the garage in other words, or we would have used hardware cloth over the brooder instead). We never used the plastic pole for attaching a brooder light, we would hang the light and waterer from the ceiling rafters instead with some chain instead. There is no bottom in this brooder, so you need to use a plastic liner or some other sort of contraption to line the bottom (we used some big lawn trash bags). The walls are made of plastic so they are easily wiped down and cleaned when poo and other fun things get stuck to the walls, and can be thoroughly sanitized if needed. Also as an FYI we would keep our babies in a clear plastic storage tub for the first week or so of their lives to keep an eye on them and have them in the house. Once all was well and they made it past the teeny baby stage hurdle they then were put into this brooder until it was time for the coop. When the little guys go into this brooder they cannot see entirely through the walls so just be sure to speak as you enter the room so that they are not jolted or surprised when you big head and hands are popping up into the brooder. Our babies never minded and were never startled since we would say "hey" the minute we opened the garage door to make them aware of our presence. This is a great adjustable, reusable, easy to clean brooder at an awesome price!!

Great for compact spaces
I love the compact design! Very easy to relocate my chicks in minutes. I love how it can fold for easy storage. My one complaint is that it is too thin and gets knocked over very easily. Not recommended for windy areas or if you have curious doggies. My little dogs just knock it right over. A little pricey for the material in my opinion. However, it makes a great starter pen.

Great idea but didn't work for my purpose
This was very easy to assemble and use and would probably work perfectly for some animals, but didn't work well for my two week old baby chicks. The problem was that I couldn't clean up the pen. I had this set up on a concrete floor with newspaper on the floor and wood chips on top. I couldn't reach the middle of the pen without getting in it myself and I didn't want to do that. Chicks are very messy and constantly spill water and make the pen just all-around nasty and I couldn't keep it clean. Then when they started to grow feathers and fly, I had to find something to put over it to keep them in. I was only able to keep them in this pen for about a week before I had to find them other lodgings.

Good flexible brooder.
I like this brooder because it can be formed into different sizes. It is easy to clean and fold up when not in use. I like the built-in light post and that it's adjustable. It is decently built and has a good design. I use a cardboard box as the base and it works great. I place a washable pee pad under the cardboard box. This works great for quail and chickens. I place a piece of plastic fencing over the top when my chicks start to fly.

Very clever and useful product
There are several negative'ish reviews. I found this to be a cleaver and really terrific starter for the chicks. Sure they will grow out of it (hello?) and you have to move them into a larger enclosure, but it is light, sturdy, easy to handle and one of the nicest things I like about it is that the design allows you to make different shapes to fit the area you have to fit it into. I needed a rectangle for the babies... later as pullets - one got pecked and I needed a more unusual shape to fit the area I had - no problem. The other thing is the panels can be disconnected so it can be attached to a fence or wall - making for a much larger area. Easily fold-able to store away for next batch of chicks, easy to clean and the panels allow for enough light to filter through during the day so the chicks grow up feeling positive not oppressed from a dark enclosure. There is only one thing I would improve and it is the light holder - it needs to be able to go shorter and longer than the 2 drilled holes allow.

Awful. Do not buy, deserves zero stars.
Do not buy this y’all. I try not to be an overly negative reviewer, but this was an absolute waste of money. It’s essentially painted cardboard pieces held together with plastic binder rings and a flimsy pvc contraption for the heat lamp. It’s also so short. Spend your money making one with a plastic tote and mesh wire, it’s cheaper and more efficient. I would give this zero stars if I could.

Very good

Pretty flimsy. Ok if you are not concerned about other animals around such as dogs and cats

Could be a little stronger but worked well.

I thought it would be better for what I paid for it. It looks to be solid plastic in the picture but when I got it was made out of tiny pieces of corrugated plastic that probably cost nothing to make. I also paid for one day shipping and it arrived after second day. Had to put this inside of a dog crate so chickens wouldn't knock it over or animals get at them. Next time I could build one for cheaper.

Very flimsy, needs a cover as chicks were flying out of it by 2 weeks old and they outgrew very quickly.
