I've been a full-time bass player since the early 1980's and I've been a D'Addario string user for as long as I can remember. They last well, they stay in tune (a BIG plus), the Black Beauties and the tape-wound strings look great on 3 of my basses. I have D'Addario strings on all of my basses, all of my guitars and even on my mandolin.

I put these on a mass produced acoustic-electric bass to upgrade from the factory strings that came with it. The guitar sounded nice but the steel strings were too twangy. Phosphor bronze was supposed to have a more mellow sound. Wow. It is just what I was hoping for. Fuller sounding, deep but not muddy, great sustain. Just what the hollow body needed. Clean tone with or without the amp. Smooth feel and response. Very happy.

Excellent tone and sustain

These strings sound full and bright without being harsh. They feel nice and have good tension. Good playability. I have had these on my bass for a year now and they still hold up. They do turn my fingers black though.

These really made my El Capitain come to life. Very easy on the fingers, too.

These strings sound awesome and require very little tension to reach tune (really important on an Acoustic Bass). I just ordered another set to try on my fretless electric they play so good. Nice and bright tones without being "tinny" sounding. The price is really good from this seller as well.

Got these to replace the original strings on a bass I purchased here on Amazon. The seemed to be a nice improvement both in sound and performance over the original strings. Time will tell how long they last.
