comfortable to wear
Lightweight and conforms well to the body, comfortable to wear, though will make you sweat more than without it. In the largest size it is too short for full protection for anyone over 6' tall (either your chest or your lower abdomen will be unprotected, your choice. And the side protection area for the ribs is a bit too narrow as well). Plus, if you are not only tall but also "big" it won't fully cover your sides on the front and on the sides as well. The "tiles" feel stiffer than other foam protectors, but I can't tell if they protect better or worse - a good punch is still felt pretty good, but seems to be softened enough to not cause bruises or discomfort. I can't compare to other products, but this seems adequate for at least light sparring. Can't say how durable it is as I've only used it a handful of times so far. So far so good, but the elastics and the way the tiles are connected together appear like they will not last very long.

The straps of the small fit a little better than the medium
I originally ordered a small, but I had to return it because the chest guard was too small for my son. The straps of the small fit a little better than the medium, so I just had to sew the straps a little shorter to get a better fit since I like the size of the medium chest guard better than the small. The chest guard is a little thinner than I expected, but it is lightweight and works for my son's current level. Once my son gets higher than his current orange belt and needs more protection for higher impact, I will look for a chest guard that is a little thicker since he does compete in tournaments. Overall, this is a great LIGHTWEIGHT chest guard and a great seller with excellent customer service!

The best in the market
I bought this chest guard for my 9 year old girl and when I got it I thought it was to thin and thought about return it butwe had a tournament coming up and there was no time to order a different brand, my daughte took three kicks to the ribs in different matches and one knocked her down and she got up like nothing happened and ended up winning the match, I asked her if the kick hurted and she said felt it but did not hurt at all.

Macho Chest Protector
These do the job for those that need to enhance the contact portion of training and everyone needs to make that contact. Works well for striking weapons also. Leg movement is not hindered and good overall movement while wearing. Very light also. good product but with any type protection gear you still need to be accurate to hit the pad for it to work.

Just Adequate Coverage
Me and my friends practice knife fighting, among other things, and we wanted some abdominal shielding against thrusts with our training blades. Bought this protector and it works okay, but really there are a lot of areas left vulnerable still and I can tell we're going to destroy this flimsy thing within a year or so. Here's a video of us using the product[,,,]

Returned it.
Sizing was way off. I ordered a medium and what I got would have only worked on my 11 old daughter. Not sure if it was the sizing chart that wasn't clear or a mistake in the order. No issues returning it, though.

Very stiff, not what we were expecting.
Wanted something for our pre-teen son to be able to practice some of his karate without bruising up his father. This item was much harder/stiffer than we expected and wanted! The QUALITY was good but maybe the description could be better. We returned it .

don't waste your money
an ABSOLUTE JUNK. don't waste your money. THE Very Best MISREPRESENTATION on Amazon. it looks good, but it feels like cardboard, no softness, no cushioning to absorb anything (My kids are only 7 and 8 with not much of a kicking force) ---- the best comparison will be taping 1"(ONE INCH ONLY as hard as a piece of wood) thick books on your chest and on your flanks. My best guess is this company is making it's profit by charging $12.00 restocking fee on all returns; and they don't pay for returns - the cheapest fee to send it back to them from California is $13.00. So, this PERFECT MISREPRESENTATION costed me $25.00 ... This would be a good gift as a Halloween costume to visit kindergartens as a superhero - there could be absolutely NO OTHER USE FOR IT!
