Nice product but...
1st of all Amazon sent me an open box item w/o letting me know; the contents within the pack were already open. Easy to setup. Fun to do but like another review stated, the sand did not stick. I will contact the company to see what they can do. Otherwise, a nice keepsake if the sand sticks.

Fun but messy gift
I uploaded a picture of the end result, we did get a footprint after about 20 attempts and re-wetting the sand twice. THAT IS NOT A COMPLAINT! I think that was great with a fussy 9 month old. We ended up with an almost perfect print! We attempted this and a 'hand-print' with plaster (a different kit) and this was by far the better product. The way you get the imprint in sand first before you pour the plaster over is ingenious. This way there was only sand on a foot and not plaster all over the hands of an infant. The only messy part is the sand. If you can, do this project when it is warm so you can be outside. Other than that this product worked well and we ended up with an adorable gift. I would recommend this over any of those plaster kits if you want to use with children under the age of three. This was just much easier to keep redoing our imprint if we didn't get a perfect print until we got one we wanted to keep forever. The price is high but the kit works! (As an aside, the Mahogany is a much darker color than the stock picture, just an FYI.)

The concept sounds very nice, but in practice this didn't work well for us at all. For one, after countless tries we never really got the strong footprint seen in the marketing picture. We just couldn't get that amount of depth and detail, especially in the toes. There's just no way we were going to push down on our baby's foot hard enough to try to get it. Second, after drying, not very much sand stuck to the plaster. The plaster had a number of bald spots, and if you so much as touched the sand which did stick to the dried plaster, that sand would fall off. Third which was the most troublesome was that the frame didn't come with a glass. There's nothing to prevent anyone (including baby) from touching the plaster and rubbing more sand off, and nothing protecting the carpet/floor from sand accumulating under the place the frame is hung. The frame currently sits on a table in our basement face-side up to keep from losing the rest of the sand, but where no one can enjoy it. It's unfortunate, because the concept is a good one.

Very Difficult Product to Use
I tried on my 6 mos old and that failed and I again tried on a 9 month old. It is extremely difficult to get a clean impression in the sand with their feet. Hands are impossible. The finished product comes out just so so. It may be better with older kids that can cooperate more, but I don't think this product is worth the price.

Really cool
Read the reviews before you buy because your child will probably grab the sand if you do hands, but, feet are perfect and so cute! This was pretty easy to do, a little messy, take their advice and put paper down and follow all of the steps

Thought it would be nice but desipte the ability to repeat your attempts
Thought it would be nice but desipte the ability to repeat your attempts, the sand is very easily disturbed so I've found it impossible to get a good impression. Have tried several times since my daughter was 8 mo but she always curls her toes and the sand provides no resistance so the pattern is destroyed. I think in my case, a clay or putty impression would work better due to more resistance to toe-curling.

easy, fast, professional print
Makes a nice impression. I used it for my dog's paw print. It was a little difficult to lift her paw straight up off the sand without altering the print, but after a couple tries, we got it. Redoing the print is super easy and fast because it's just sand and the kit comes with a flat scraper. The company has a how-to video online demonstrating it with a child's hand print. The child had a tendency to want to grab a handful of the sand, but it was easy to level the sand and try again. It might not work so well for hands of a young child who doesn't understand not to grab the sand. The only negative I found was that you have to attach the metal hanger yourself. While it's good that you can put the wall hanger on whatever edge you need, I found that it was a bit difficult to hammer the metal hook/hanger onto the frame. It also seemed a bit messy with a least some sand getting out and spilled.

Don't waste your money
This was a total waste of money. I checked the reviews and still thought that I could pull this off. When you open the instructions, it does tell you that you need to have patience (which I did...three days of patience). First of all, the picture on the box is very deceiving...the prints DO NOT come out that clear. No matter how many times you try, you will never get prints as clear as what is depicted on the box. So I figured once I poured the plaster on and once it dried, it would make the print more crisp; wishful thinking. You do need about two people to maybe (and I use that loosely) get a decent print. Bottom line, you can get a better print if you just stick to the traditional plaster/clay kits and it costs a heck of a lot cheaper! I definitely WOULD NOT recommend this to anybody unless they just have money to waste.
