Makes restaurant quality steak in almost no time!
Like many others, I had been craving the idea of making restaurant quality steak at home, but professional steak machines up until now had been prohibitively expensive, starting in the $800 range and going up. So it was a surprise to me to see that specialized steak grills made in China are now down in price so that you don't need to be upper middle class or better to have a good steak cooker. This GasPro Grill works great, it's easy to assemble, and it does exactly what they say it will. It arrived in a large cardboard box. Opening tip: open the top of the box, take out the instruction book on top, then with the flaps open, tip the box carefully until the box is upside down, then simply lift the outer box off. The contents will come right out and it will be easy going from there. Photo of open box was uploaded. Assembly took about 10 minutes (the manual claims 5 mins). Assembly consists of attaching rubber feet onto the bottom of the unit, attaching the regulator/flame unit (4 screws), and a knob. You'll also need an AA battery (not included) for the igniter. I happened to have a cable which allowed me to connect to a standard propane tank, otherwise, you'll either have to buy the cable or settle for those disposable propane bottles used for camping. Assembled, the unit is about 17" tall from the top of the gas flow knob to the bottom of the rubber feet. See the photo of the unit I uploaded with the yardstick. Cooking is super easy. Start the grill and let it heat up for five minutes. It heats up very quickly, well over 500 degrees according to my infrared thermometer which tops out at 500. Even the bottom level is over 200 degrees. The actual ceramic is smaller than the grate. You'll get the most heat towards the back of the unit and not as much in the front quarter of the unit, just because the ceramic is the size it is. Basically, there's enough room in the unit to cook two small filet mignons or one New York strip steak at a time. See the uploaded photos showing two typical uncooked New York steaks against the size of the grate. The manual suggest cooking on high for no more than a minute and 15 seconds. I presume that's the top rack and highest heat, since it suggests that steak be 20mm (a little less than an inch) from the ceramic element. However, this thing heats up like it's the surface of the Sun, so I would only do that if you like RARE steak with a decent char on the outside and red on the inside. The dust cover door must remain open during operation. Tip: put a tray outside the opening to catch any dripping from the steak when you pull it out to flip the steak over. My suggestion to start out: Cook on the third rack from the top, highest heat, for about 2 to 2-1/2 minutes per side. That should deliver a medium rare steak (see my photo of a typical store-bought New York steak cooked at that setting) with a decent crust on the outside. It may take some experimentation to figure out the right rack and timing to suit your personal tastes. I rate this as 5 stars, with the caveat that the longevity of the grill is hard to evaluate. It seems pretty sturdy and has worked well the two times I've used it now. Included in the box beside the grill are some handy racks, a drip tray, a handle for taking the racks out of the grill (or putting them back into it) and two oven mittens. Oh, and as for cleanup, get some steel wool pads. It'll help to get off any burned stuff off the racks or drip tray.

It'd be better if it were wider
The Propane Infrared Steak Grill impresses with its high quality and strong steel body, giving it a durable, premium feel. It also boasts a sleek look and good design, making it a standout. The infrared technology truly delivers, searing steaks to perfection. My only drawback is the size; I wish it were wider for easier operation when cooking multiple items. Despite this, it's an exceptional grill for steak lovers who prioritize quality, performance, and style.

Mine was "seasoned"
I was so excited to get my "new" "Amazon Choice" grill today! It delivered quickly so I was sure to not be disappointed! Yeah! I giddily open the box envisioning grilling a perfect filet tonight I noticed the unusual amount of packing tape on the box, but unwilling to entertain any other option than the movie in my head. I triumphantly pulled it out of the box, removed the plastic bag and the door fell off to one side, not being attached on one lower corner, see picture. This allowed me to see the interior of the grill, the grease covered interior and grilling plate, see pictures. This led me to more closely look at the exterior, see pictures which is also grease covered. On repacking I was able to learn the name and address of the man that had previously returned it, after using it for a bit, nice. I am defeated. This is the third grill of this style I had ordered from Amazon, The previous two were not this model or brand and were returned due to not coming with the hose and regulator as stated in the listing. I will now go to Cabellas or some other such retailer and spend a little more but be assured of getting g a new, complete machine. Hangs head and walks away.

Gets the job done and then some!
I’ve had my eye on these little “single serve” units for quite sometime now, but couldn’t justify the big bucks they were fetching. I almost pulled the trigger on a unit that costs twice more a year ago, but I’m glad I didn’t. Compared to what is currently out on the market, this unit is very competitively priced and it’s actually very well built. You’d think at this price point, they would have sacrificed on quality or used lack luster components, but that isn’t the case. The unit arrived in a sturdy, well packaged box, and surprisingly it has some good weight to it. Assembly took a few minutes and I had it up and running in right around 5min. If you’re going to use this with a small portable camping style propane tank, then you’re good to go. It comes with the appropriate fitting / regulator to do so, but if you want to use a typical 20lb propane tank, more commonly found on BBQ’s, then you will need to pick up the associated hose and adapter. Thankfully these are readily available on Amazon and shouldn’t set you back more than $15-$20. Honestly, I don’t know why the manufacturer just didn’t include one with the unit. Last but not least, you will need one AAA battery for the igniter, and once again, not really sure why the manufacturer left this one out as well. Anyhow, cooking with it is fast and super easy, albeit as others have chimed in with, there is a slight learning curve. For me it was a little trial and error, but once you dial in which rack to put your meat on (depending on thickness), and for how long on each side (1-3min), cooking with it becomes like clock work. Steaks that used to take forever to make are now hitting plates, ready to devour, in literally minutes. Cleaning the machine after it has cooled down is also not as bad as some have stated. If you have some good, long reach brush, you can pretty much get into everywhere you need to. All in all I’m very pleased with this little grill. It’s a tremendous buy and if you love a good steak, it’s a sound investment.

Worked for a while!
This unit worked ok for about a year. Then the igniter unit failed. No warranty for a year like similar units. 30 days only. Can’t get parts. Would not recommend
