Nice stands; little pricey
These are nice, sturdy stands for my Pro Monitor 1000s. They fit the speakers perfectly and can be tightened snugly for additional reassurance. They are secure on the foot and don't feel like they will easily tip over. One note on assembly: you need to crank the screws down as you go or the post can turn on the base or the speaker can turn on the top of the post and get wobbly. Adjusting things once the speaker is on is awkward and may require some disassembly. And they are pricey for some steel, so I'm glad I only needed one pair.

quality stands at a nice price.
All I was really looking for was a nice pair of black stands to go with my Pro Monitor 100s and all I could find were Pro 1000 stands. Looking carefully at the dementions of the Pro Monitor 1000s and the older 100's I came to the conclusion that they were almost the same size, so I ordered them. 3 days latter they came with no defects and packaged very nicely in the box.Setting them up was a breeze which was a great plus and they even gave me two types of feet. Rubber feet for hard floors and spike feet for carpet which I thought was terrific. Once mounted they were heavy and sturdy and created no problems.Because they use screws to secure the base, the rod, and the speaker I found if you want to move the speaker you have to grab it by the base so the screws don't accedently loosen. This however was not to difficult and once set them you can forget them.

Excellent Complement To Our ProMonitor 1000's
We recently added surround speakers to our home theater. After way more research and consideration than necessary, I purchased Definitive Technology ProMonitor 1000's. I looked at these Definitive Technology speaker stands but decided they were pretty pricey. Instead, I ordered Sanus EF-28B 28" stands. They looked similar and were about half the price. Maybe the Sanus stands would work for some people, but the design of the base wasn't stable enough for me and I couldn't see a satisfactory way to secure the ProMonitor speaker to the stand. I could use two-sided tape, or drill new holes in the support pad, but either approach still left the issue of the unstable base.So the Sanus were returned (forty dollars for return shipping was a lesson learned) and the ProStands were ordered. Happily, they arrived four days later. I should have ordered them in the first place! They are well-built, stable, and our ProMonitor speakers attach with a single screw. They are more attractive than they appear in the Amazon listing. You can feed the speaker wire through the stand via openings at the top and bottom of the cylinder. I would have liked to have the option to route the wire through the bottom of the stand and underneath the base, rather than out of the hole at the bottom of the cylinder. As it is, you can see the wire trailing across the back of the base of the stand. It's not a big deal, but it would look nicer to have the wire hidden.Overall, an excellent match for our ProMonitor speakers. Highly recommend.

Not bad but
Fit the pro 1000 perfectly but I think they are to short and unfortunately they do not adjust. IHave a very basic couch and my speakers don’t sit above it. Make sure you take a measurement before you purchase.

Sturdy and attractive
The stands are easy to put together, and look great with the Definitive Technology speakers. They have cutouts to route the wire through the center of the pole, and also little plastic clips that can be attached for wire management. The box they're shipped in isn't quite sturdy enough for re-use (which is important to me because I move frequently), but I've bought two pairs at different times, and both have arrived without damage.

High price for a cheap product
These stands have a thick metal material, but where you screw in the base to the shaft is where this thing doesn't shine. Crappy craftsmanship... The base of this stand is nice and heavy and you would think the rest of the stand would be also, well, you would be wrong. The shaft is made thinner than the base, but probably because they didn't want this stand to weigh a million pounds. The problem is where the shaft meets the base...where you screw this to one another... they use a very thin metal strip on the shaft that get stripped from the screw coming in from the base. Horrible design.

Great Stands
Nice heavier and sturdy stands. I was afraid because of the PM 1000's weight, but these themselves are nice and heavy. For us the perfect height.

These stands go very nice with the ProMonitor 1000's!
I picked up a pair of these to go with the Def Tech ProMonitor 1000's that I decided I didn't want to wall mount. These take about 10 minutes to assemble and go together very nice. I was concerned at first about the screws that hold the speakers on due some of the other reviews here, but I had no problem whatsoever with them being long enough. I just screwed them down until the foam on the mounting plate compressed slightly and called it good. These are not going anywhere! The instructions want you to just clip your speaker wire into some cheesy clips that you put into the back of the posts. I noticed that there are some good sized holes in the back of the post, one at the bottom and the other at the top. I just routed my speaker wire through the main post up to the top. Much better look in my opinion.I will say that with the speakers on top that they are a little more top heavy than I wanted. I'm considering drilling a hole in the back part of the bottom plate to put a screw threw them and into the floor, but only since I have some toddlers. If I didn't have them I would not be worried at all.Overall these are great stands for the ProMonitor 1000 speakers. They hold them at just the right height when I am sitting on my couch watching a movie or listening to some music. And they match the speakers great as well. You can't go wrong with these.
