Radioshack Mini Amplifier

Love this Mini Amplifier, I have two of them and both works great.

Really excited to use this to share recorded books on my ereader with the family. Unfortunately if you turn the volume up even a little the sound comes out distorted and fuzzy. A real disappointment.

Item is mixed up. If you order, you will receive a cheap little HEADPHONE amp. Nothing in the description is correct. Not a Car amplifier in any way. Not HiFonics brand or anything. What a let-down😖.

I have used this box in the Radio Business over the years- back in the 90's it was only $15. If you do not have a scope to look at problem circuits then this will be the next best thing as a resistor can be placed on the input cable which I used a alligator clip on a piece of shielded cable and a piece of wire with alligator for ground. this device had an imput impedance of around 100K and so it was useful for finding where an audio signal stopped in a audio path. I served as Chief Engineer for 4 stations in Chicago as well as worked in the broadcast contract business.

The device came with no instructions & I asked for instructions & received them but still can not make it work. I want my money back.

Do not buy, This is not the real Hifonics amp. All it is is a radioshack speaker and amp for headphones.

This little item is exactly what is wanted to amplify the sound output on any electronic device with a 3.5mm audio output jack. The amplifier does not come with any external wiring so you will need to order a 3.5mm to 3.5mm connecting wire together with a 9volt battery. The sound is mono only but it works very well on my grandson's nintendo 3ds to increase the output volume. As far as I can tell there is not another device like this little amplifier to be found on the internet at such a reasonable price and I recommend it.

these things only last 1 year before failing in some way, but still the best out there. Thank god they are cheap!

I think this is a great little amp for the price. I bought one a year ago and have recently purchased another. I use it outdoors to play birdsong and the sound quality is fine at the lower volume levels. There is distortion of mp3 sound at high volume but it does go VERY loud and I never need to put it up that high. It takes a 9V battery that lasts for ages, I am not sure exactly how long but I think I must have used the most recent amp for at least 30 hours now and it is still going on its first battery. It is NOT supplied with a connector so I had to buy a lead/jack. For the price, it is excellent value and I only have not given it 5 stars because of the sound distortion.
