Cape Cottage Playhouse - Blue Large

This little cottage was the perfect addition to our kids play area! The doors and windows open and close making it feel like a real home for pretend play. The material is really sturdy and durable. We had it sitting outside for all 4 seasons, and it hasn’t lost any color. It was fairly easy to put together and it’s very lightweight making it easy to move. It kept my kids entertained for hours and out of the house. This is a great pick!

I will say the house is much flimsier than those made 10-15 years ago. 1 person can put it together. I have it in my home, but on the inside there are holes where the house can be anchored to the ground for outdoor play. My grandson is 2.5 years old and absolutely loves it! There are 2 cute little flagpole holders on the front and back.

Looks just like the picture. Easy to build. But the quality is bad. Back in the day, I remember them being sturdy and thick material but this is thin and wobbly. Definitely flies away during storms which brings amusement lol. I suppose, in today age, the price is perfect for the quality. Also, this is a great indoor house. Not so much outside unless you tie it down

I'm still giving this 5 stars just because it's adorable and my 1 year old is going to love this! The only issues I had with it is some of the walls came with what looks like scuff marks all over them, that I am not able to get rid of even with a good wipe down. Pictures attached. Also, the door does not seem to want to close already. I hope that changes over time. Otherwise, this is perfect. Bought this Christmas of 2024 for my toddler grandson. Still in great shape after daily use in his indoor playroom. He loves it. Not sure how well it holds up outdoors but as an indoor hideaway it’s great. I’m short at 5’3” but I can crawl in there with him and his assortment of stuffed animals which he thinks is great. Would fit two or three toddler-sized kids at a time. This brand always seems to deliver sturdy and well-made products for kids.

I bought this for my 2 year old granddaughter and have it sitting on our outdoor deck. I read several reviews about this playhouse being cheap. The plastic walls are a bit flimsy, but when you put the entire thing together it's sturdy. It's not heavy so it's easy to move around. That's a plus. There are screw holes in the bottom of the playhouse if you want to screw it down to a flooring deck (plywood). Assembly wasn't too bad. The two door side pieces need to slide into each other (top into bottom). The instructions say to use dish soap to add some lube. I didn't, but I was still able to work the pieces together although it wasn't as easy. Other than that, the playhouse was very simple and easy to build. The only issue I have is the flag mounts (one on each door side). The playhouse doesn't come with a flag so I thought I'd make one using a wooden dowel. You need to be very careful with this because the flag pole will slump down a bit when put into the pole holder. This might make the end of the pole the level of a child's eye. So, I decided not to use a flag. I think if you get a really short flag pole and put a knob on the end it'd be safer. Either way, my granddaughter didn't notice the flag missing and used the mounting bracket to hang a bucket with her toys. Children are very resourceful. Overall, we're very pleased with this playhouse and my granddaughter loves it. However, I may have to build a rain proof cover over my deck. My granddaughter want's to go outside to play in her house even when it's pouring rain. LOL!

The Little Tykes Cape Cod Cottage Playhouse is a decent starter playhouse. Assembly is fairly straightforward, and the simple design with working doors and windows is appealing for imaginative play. However, the plastic is flimsy and less durable than older Little Tykes products, making it prone to warping and not as sturdy as expected for long-term outdoor use. It's good for light play, but don't expect it to withstand heavy weather or rambunctious kids without some careful placement or anchoring. Honestly this was kinda expected at this price point. Sorta regreting not getting the Step-2's playhouse instead, but I guess if LO still likes to play in it in 2 years, will probably get another sturdier one (not from Little Tykes).

My 15 month old grandson is obsessed with this playhouse. Plays in it all day long

Santa got this for the kiddos during a sale and it sat with a blanket draped over the box until Xmas Eve. Elves had a simple job of assembly - took less time than wrapping all the other gifts! 4 months later, it’s holding up well. My kids are hard on their toys; this has had its windows and doors slammed over and over, my 3 year old has full-on flipped the whole thing in a meltdown on a couple of occasions, they hit and kick and bang on the walls with toys, and it still looks the same as when we assembled it. Please note it is used for indoor use - if you had it outside or in direct sunlight, the stickers would likely fade a bit.

Kids absolutely love it. Easy to put together, even had my 4 and 3 year olds help. After a year and a half, it has held up great between being outside in the summers and inside during the winter.
