Fully block the sun better than any curtains
These have now been installed in two of the places I've lived. They are great. Easy to install, trim and they block allllllllll the light and quite a bit of heat. These are so much better than blackout curtains. The sizes available let's you easily get your whole windows. They look very unassuming and are completely hidden by the curtains of your choice.

Useful tip in this review
As other reviews have noted. the grid marked cellophane film is really difficult to separate from the (1/25” thick) material that goes onto the window. I'm 73 and my hands aren't steady, so here’s how I did it. Once you take the wrapping off, you'll see the end of the roll is taped to the rest of the roll at the middle and near the ends. Before you cut these at either end, lift the end of the material a little so the tape begins to lift from the roll so that you can cut the tape maybe an 1/8” beyond the end of the roll. This way you end up with a little tab of tape on the end of the roll which is where you can get a razor under the grid cellophane to create a starting point to lift and remove the grid cellophane. It is definitely easier to remove the grid cellophane from the edges of the roll. They should make this so the grid cellophane has little 1/4" tabs along the sides every 2" or so. Good stuff, nice surface one installed. One reviewer said you need 2 people. I did two 28 x 57” windows myself. Very warm when done but by night it was surface temp like the window frame. I had meant these pieces to go beyond the glass and onto the flat aluminum slats around the perimeter of the glass. However, once I began to squeegee the surface to eliminate air bubbles this drew the edges in toward the glass. I added black electrician’s tape on some spots so it stayed down on the aluminum flat pieces. The tape also ensured completed black-out. You could instead just cut to glass size like in their video and add electrician’s tape for complete blackout. Freakishly dark in my bedroom now. They recommend adding cloth to the squeegee, I did that by rubber banding piece of old tee shirt on my 99 cent store shower squeegee and on a small hand-held dish scarper/spatula. Both worked well.

Great adhesion but only for the first use
The film is ok and really only for the first time use. It is totally light blocking so we put it on our RV bedroom windows. It blocks out the light we don’t need during the day or night. I can’t really can’t say if it kept the heat out, I just didn’t really notice. But it would stand to reason that if it’s blocking the rays, it will surely keep some heat out. I would use more of a bubble thermal if I needed that to be really effective, which blocks out the light too. Once this film is stuck for the first time it doesn’t peel. However, I took them off to put in our new RV and there is no adhesion properties left. So I will buy a new roll but only because I don’t plan on ever removing and reusing them.

Keeps light out great!
I’m a night owl. This keeps my room nice and dark. I’m very happy. I ended up not adhering it the way the recommend because I was afraid I’d mess it up. I just put it up by using black electrician tape around the edges. Works great and keeps light from seeping through on the edges.

NOT STATIC CLING. INSTRUCTIONS SAY TO SPRAY SOAPY WATER ON WINDOW TO GET IT TO STICK.
Contrary to the Amazon description, it’s NOT STATIC CLING. The instructions on the package say you have to spray a soap and water mixture on the window to get it to cling. I didn’t have a spray bottle, so I just peeled off the backing (not easy as other reviews point out) and used scotch tape to tape up panels I cut out. It was a pain to tape up panels and take them down every morning. I could have just used black cardboard at a fraction of the cost. Plus, I didn’t want to scum up my new windows with a film of soapy water.

Blocks light, not heat
This product does block 100% light, but the heat still comes through like it's a curtain instead of something that blocks UV. If all you want is the light blocked, look no further than this product. Super easy to install even for a novice like myself. Biggest challenge to installation is you cannot see where the air bubbles are unless you have clear and easy access to both sides of the installation pane but even with that small roadblock, you can cut, install, trim and work out bubbles in 15-20 minutes almost regardless of the size of glass you are installing on.

A must have with all the weirdos out there
Thanks to HGTV, my wife had to have an open concept house with natural light coming in from every angle. This house is surrounded by windows and there is no wall in sight. How it’s even still standing is a mystery to me. Anyway, this ruined my morning routine which is putting on will smiths big Willie style cd and dancing around the house(without clothing) while brushing my teeth. The landscaper won’t return our calls, the guy across the street looks away whenever I wave at him, and I’ve seen the neighborhood kids mimicking my dance moves every time they pass by the house. These three events lead me to believe that all these people can see and have seen me. Most people wouldn’t mind, but I am a shy person. Off to Amazon I go and these came up under window privacy. Easy to install and they solved my problem. Party in the city when the heat is on, all night on the beach till the break of dawn.

Works perfectly for me
I have a small window in my closet that shoots a beam of sun across my face if the closet door is left open...and it's always open now since my cat started INSISTING on sleeping in the closet. Just needed a cheap and effective way of keeping the sun off my face in the AM and this works perfectly. Addressing a couple other reviews: 1. Yeah, it's totally opaque. It's right in the product title/description so just know that it's not a dark tint. 2. Be sure to look at the size you're ordering. There are several sizes. Installation was super easy. The cut lines on the peel-away film was a great touch to make sure you're cutting straight. Soapy water and 1 credit card later, it was installed. Totally recommend this!

The product claimed to be 100% light blocking, which isn't true. I could see outside my room even at night, and during the day it only made the room slightly darker. As a shift worker, I hoped this made my room totally dark, and was disappointed when it didn't happen

It's not black out as described. The product I received is tinted cling film, see through.
