Takes practice but soon you will get used to this.
I only ordered this battery operated hand held sewing machine to take in the upper arms of some t shirts I have that are too wide.At first I found it difficult to manoeuvre but I got the hang of it in the end.you have to place the machine on a hard stable surface to proceed to see, your garment of choice,I don't think it will see big garments etc but little jobs would be quite sufficient. You need two hands to guide the garment you are sewing through the machine.once finished then it's best to sew by hand(needle and thread)an inch to where the sewing machine thread has finished,Why?Well this machine does not sew via a bobbin underneath so no back stitch I'm afraid, thus sewing an inch or so to where the machine thread finishes, you are then able to tie two loose thread ends together and form a knot, this secures the stitching quite well.It has worked on my t shirt arms so far.I don't have any complaints about this machine at all.It comes with an instruction manual so it is very easy to follow.Yes,I like this machine and quite somewhat pleased with purchasing it.

Its good, a tad gimmicky
Got this for my grandma to try for when fixing clothes etc. She thought it was good but it is a tad of a gimmick. As useful as it is, if you're going to thread it and use it, you may as well use a proper sewing machine with more options.

Doesn’t work on any material
Don’t bother. The needle threader was received broken, so couldn’t thread the needle. I found one I already had, but still very fiddly to do. When you finally thread the needle it won’t sew on any material it suggests it can. It only works on the material provided with it. Doesn’t work on thick material or thin material or material with in any stretch in it. I wanted to take up trousers which are too long, but this won’t work on any material my trousers are made from. The cotton provided on the bobbins just snaps, so would need to buy better quality - if you have the right material to sew. I thought being a JML product, it would be good, but it’s pointless a waste of time.

Not worked for me
Only used once, on the test piece supplied. Then the needle broke. I replace it but thereafter no stitches would hold regardless of what adjustments I made. Fiddled about with machine for a couple of hours then gave up. All in all a bit of a waste of money. Pros: it is small and lightweight and would be ideal if it worked. Cons: bit of a faff loading material under tension arm; I took the batteries out (repeatedly) as it would be so easy to hit the on button when working with needle and/or thread.

Absolutely rubish!
The product is a great idea if it would actually stitch - it doesn't! The thread comes out at the lightest touch immediately making it not fit for the purpose. Of course: "This item isn't eligible for a return for safety reasons, items containing flammable liquids or gases can’t be returned to Amazon" - as I discovered when attempted to return this piece of rubbish. So, you may actually be better off just throwing £20 straight into the dustbin to avoid disappointment followed by a feeling of being ripped off. Other than that, the product is quite tricky to use and operate (for less experienced users); the delivery was quick and the instructions are actually quite good and easy to follow (which does not really matter as the product, except the sharp needle, is just a rubish plastic toy).

Does what it says

will do the job
Made to a price but will do the job, threading the needle is a bit fiddly, tool to assist this is not really up to the job and needs to be a bit more robust.
