Works fine.
Plugged it into my John Deere d260 and fired it up. Worked fine but I actually bought this for my 5 year old grandson that has a thing for keys. also got him the 45321 Toys JJOHN Lawn Mower Key Ring to go with it. Needless to say he loved it.

Works perfectly
I got a used tractor with a rusted nub of a key. After spending many hours repairing and restoring this machine, a rusty key nub just wasn't acceptable to me. A John Deere deserves the proper key replacement. All of the ignition keys are the same cut, so this is an easy buy. It has the little deer logo on it too, and was sooooo much cheaper than the JD dealer key, oh, buy two of them and you're still miles ahead!🙂

Works fine
The problem on many of these old mowers is that the mechanism that holds the key in the ignition in the off position gets so loose that the key can practically fall out based on gravity alone. This item provides a quick fix for that problem, though keep in mind that if you're not picky about having an official key, a thin, flat-bladed screwdriver can work just as well for starting and stopping the motor. That's what I used until this arrived.
