Taylor Pro Digital Kitchen Food Scales

Excellent scales. Nice and large but not too large to fit easily in drawer. Accurate. Easy to use. I love the white frosted glass look and the blue LED. People have commented that hard to open battery container. It’s not hard….but the effort comes as the battery seal ensures the product is waterproof. Huge bonus that it’s waterproof. I love these scales. Legitimately waterproof unlike others with picture of running tap water but comments report not really waterproof. This one is!

Really like these scales. Large platform takes the largest of my Kenwood bowls and Le Creuset pans no problem. Accurate to use and large display. Easy clean as no joints etc. You need a screwdriver to get into the battery compartment, but this has a waterproof seal; so a good idea and I am sure the batteries will last ages and doubt I will need back in there for quite a while. I have found them fairly accurate at both very low readings and heavier weights.

They zap the batteries rather quickly. That said, it's a nice large weighing area and nice bright display

The scales were received quickly, exceedingly well packed and in perfect condition. Clean and shiny! The battery compartment screws were a little tight but realise that this is essential to keep the scales waterproof and hopefully I won't need to replace the batteries too often. The absolutley flat weighing platform is superb as food debris cannot get caught and is easy to keep clean can even be rinsed under the tap if necessary. My previous scales in addition to not being accurate below about 15grams had controls and a display panel which were recessed which meant that flour/sugar etc got trapped around the edges. I cannot check the accuracy in any other way than by results....and the bread I have made has been more uniform sincce using these scales. I use fresh yeast and with my old scales a 9gram lump of yeast was a different size every time hence loaves that rose out of their container or only just about managed to rise. Not now - each loaf I have made weighing the yeast using The Taylor Pro Digital has been spot on! Another excellent feature is that it weighs up to 14kg and another is being able to change from metric to imperial measurements with just a push of a button is great too and mustn't forget the tare feature which is invaluable when adding ingredients into a bowl or pan! Overall a fantastic piece of kit at a very good price and with a 20 year guarantee! So pleased with this purchase.

Used to be I used a small spring type kitchen scale, that lasted for years and was cheap. I gradually moved to looking for kitchen scales that were easier to use. Larger base, better resolution. I eventually got to be able to afford electric scales, nice but they didn't last long, damp getting into the electronics. I was needing to replace my kitchen scales every year or so. This Taylor is way more expensive again, but the glass surface means that the electronics is protected. The weak point, to me, is that it uses button batteries, CR2032, so at least they are easy to obtain. With the size of the scales I hoped they would be AAA. I am finding this to be easy to use, apart from battery changing. I have had the scales for half a year and feel optimistic that it should last better than the cheaper electronic kitchen scales.

I bought these scales to use for baking where I need to add small amounts of several ingredients. I can't guarantee the accuracy as I have nothing against which to check them, but the results so far suggest they're fine. My only slight qualm is that the reading fluctuates a bit and can jump up a couple of grammes a few seconds after you've stopped adding, but it only by a very small amount. They're stylish, light and very easy to clean. I'd recommend.

Scales constantly changing display. Measure something out at 250g, minute later it’s 220g. Did batch cooking so needed to use them a lot and this was a constant issue. They are being returned… so disappointing as the scales themselves are very nice .

I was a little wary after all the complaints about the battery compartment, however, I found the screws undid very easily with the right screwdriver. I did make sure not to screw them back in too tightly. I weighed a 2kg bag of sugar and it read 2038gm, which seems about right if you include the weight of the paper bag. A 250gm block of butter registered 268gm and a 2litre plastic milk carton 2029gm. A 50gm tube of antiseptic cream came up as 64gm, which again seems as expected. So first impressions are that it is accurate. I wanted a scale that weighed larger amounts to try to get an accurate weight for the Xmas turkey instead of my usual guesstimate for calculating the cooking time. Can't test that for almost 6 months fortunately!

This scale is the perfect size for my kitchen. Love that it has liquid volume and different units for weight (gm, oz, etc). This is my second one. I've been happy for 10+ years with this model. Highly recommended.

Great looking and a good addition to the Kitchen

It is the ideal size to weigh my food.

Rated four stars because after several years of use we had to replace it. Looked at all the possible alternatives and decided this was the design for us, so we ordered the same one. Doesn’t take up much room, sleek, simple.
