Great product, save an old toothbrush or pipe cleaner to clean it well
The cat kept trying to drink out of our sinks (probably because I forget to fill his old bowl) so I got him this. It works well, I like the filter option. Been using it over a month. It's not loud to me. It sounds exactly like my fish tank filter running. If you need quiter then stick with just a stagnant bowl as let's be honest here, you need silence. I've cleaned it twice, the first time I left some soap in it accidently so don't do that. The power cord is 68" from the very back of the bowl where it comes out to the bottom of the power plug. I know, you think it's weird I mention that but I didn't think about where the water dish used to be. It wasn't close enough to an outlet so the cat got relo'ed. Two things: 1) When you clean it you'll really need a toothbrush like device to get around the top dish groove that runs around the outside, as well as around the sides where the removable pump goes. Its not hard, I just mention it because I threw out a toothbrush a few days ago without thinking about needing to clean this. If you don't clean in this groove, or lift the suction of the motor out to clean under that, you will have some soap residue and your cat will be right back in your sink. It's pretty idiot proof for (re)assembly. The motor only fits one way. The top only fits one way. The little cover where the water comes up is easy to remove to clean in there and replace the cap one way. Except for one thing, 2) Replacement filters. Guess who doesn't pay attention if the old filter had the black or white side facing the motor? This guy. Do yourself a favor and sharpie on the back of the bowl as soon as you get it "black side of filter faces black motor". There. Because this filter is used in multiple models the printed instructions direct you online for the direction to put the new filter in. With the marker you've saved yourself time and frustration googling which way the replacement filters go into the machine. You're welcome future or past self, depending on which you identify with. All in all this is a solid purchase so far. I refill it once a week to avoid the water level dropping and burning out the motor. Depends on your pet(s) and climate of course. My cats not a spaz so I can fill the bottom bowl darn near the top. I can't speak for yours. They might be a spaz. But that's probably cool and you have lots of wacky pictures. I have a reminder in my phone every Wednesday to fill up the water. So there you have it. Cats happy and out of the sink. There's enough water to last a Vegas weekend (or more). Replacement filters are cheap enough. A quick clean once (or more-ish) a month and you're on to more productive and fun things in life. As a bonus the cat stays alive, and that's why we're really here, right?

Small but good design
We bought the PetSafe Stainless 360 water fountain 2 1/2 years ago for our first Maine Coon kitten, Floki. It was a hit but over time it was cumbersome to clean and putting it back together, and after the first couple of cleanings it never would push the water out of the top without me taking it apart at least one more time, usually took two or three tries. I liked that it was stainless but when full of water it was also heavy to move around. So, nice fountain but had it's flaws for us. Next we added Jax, Floki's Maine Coon brother from another littler and that boy is a real water cat! They both love drinking water which is great for their health, and they like to play with it, but Jax really makes an art out it. After watching the way they drink when in the tub and sink and how they tried to use the stainless fountain I realized that what they really liked best was a) a steady flow of water, and b) moving water that was easy to drink and put paws in. The stainless 360 fountain stream that came out of the pillar in the center degraded over time and even when freshly cleaned wasn't a good flow. I came across this Multi Tier found from PetSafe the other day and I thought, ok, this look more like what my cats really want. I debated because it's smaller and I had it in my mind that big cats need a big fountain. When I unpacked it this morning I was shocked at the small box the fountain itself was in and when I took it out I thought, oh, this really is small. Yes, I saw the dimensions online but that doesn't always give me a real idea of a thing. The Coons were instantly interested though, up on the kitchen island investigating the new fountain. Good sign. Getting the main part off in order to clean the pump and put the filter in wasn't easy but eventually it did come loose. The base is small enough that getting both hands in there as shown in the picture instruction didn't make it easy to really grasp ahold of the part that was to lift off, but I got that done, cleaned the pump, washed the fountain, put back together with the filter in place, filled with water and set on the floor mat. The Coons were at it instantly. This fountain design is, IMO, superior to the 360. It has a water well on the second tier and that water moves so the cats can sit there and drink from it or wash paws or play or whatever. The stream of water is just the overflow from that well, nothing to inhibit it so it's a nice steady stream, like having the bathroom faucet running on medium. So there's a good water sound too which cats love. The base well has moving water in it too because the stream flows into it. Jax, younger brother, likes to lay next to the fountain and drink from the base well. Then he sits up and licks the stream, and then he drinks from the second tier well. With the 360 they didn't spend much time trying to drink from the base. So even though this new fountain is quite a bit smaller, the amount of water it holds (100oz) is substantial (the 360 holds 128oz). It's lighter weight, and just being smaller it's easier to handle/move/clean. Not so many parts to finagle back together after cleaning either. Only time will tell how well it holds up and whether we continue to have that nice stream of water but it's a simple enough design that I think it should do pretty well. I may get a second one for another spot because a certain water cat likes to hog the fountain and his big brother might like a second option :) For now, I much prefer this smaller, better-designed fountain over the Stainless 360 though I'll keep that one and maybe set it up on the porch without the fountain head so that they can drink out of the top of the column when they are enjoying the fresh air.

**I bought it in March 2023 and am reviewing it now after 3.5 months of continuous use.** I’ve had cats my whole life, I have bought a lot of fountains over the years. I currently have three cats (two are 1 year, 10 months and youngest is just 1 year) and they all LOVE this fountain. The two tier design is brilliant, they can all drink at the same time if they want, there’s option of drinking from the “pools” or from the stream trickling down from top to bottom. It’s the quietest fountain motor of all I’ve ever owned (you still hear trickling water sounds) and all three cats began using it right away. You can keep the water level pretty high so very little whisker sensitivity issues for the cats. I’ve cleaned it once in the 3.5 months of use and changed the filter once. I have all DSH cats so I think if you had medium or long haired cats you’d have to do this more often, likely every month. Taking apart and cleaning is sooooo easy and fast. I hand wash all parts in hot water. I bought replacement 3 pack of filters at my local pet store cheaper than offered for sale on this platform. I also wrote on the back of the fountain in sharpie a little reminder (see pic) of which way the filter goes back in as it’s easy to pull it out of the fountain and forget which way was which. Highly recommend this fountain for cats.

Honestly just a really good and efficient fountain. I got this when I adopted my cat because she kept moving her bowl around and making a mess. My big dog drinks from the larger bottom part and the cat drinks from the moving fountain part itself. It's easy to completely disassemble, the instructions show you how to even take the pump out so you can put it in the dishwasher, which is the reason I got this particular fountain. The pump is quiet when the fountain is full and makes a bit more noise when the water gets lower, nice way to tell it needs to be filled again. And the filter actually works really well, in other fountains I've found the filter nearly useless but this one does the job pretty well. First time I washed it out it had managed to catch a fairly big quantity of airborne pet hair that had landed in the water and the pumped didn't sound stressed and the filter port wasn't yet clogged. Overall I'm really impressed, the cord is nice and long and disconnects in the middle for easy washing.

I was switching from a different fountain that seemed to need water all the time or the awful sound of the pump running dry happened. This fountain has been a much better choice for my two toy poodles. There is a much better well for them to drink from, the well capacity is much larger than the other one, and doesn't need filling every hour. It is silent, but for the occasional sound of a trickle. I am very pleased with this fountain and would recommend it highly.
