Best low-priced Lav I've bought on Amazon
Let me being with the Amazon review mantra: "I usually don't write reviews for products but..." OK, now that I got that out of the way 😂 , Let's talk about this Lav mic! I felt compelled to write about it because I expected another L from Amazon. I bought the Pop voice mic, and maybe mine was a dude but it didn't work. Wouldn't work on my mac or my phone. A complete waste of money. I decided to give this one a shot before I bit the bullet and purchased a guaranteed good (but pricey) mic like the Rode Plus. I was confident due to the reviews but I've been fooled by cap on this app many times. People hyped for a product that ends up being trash. For the price, it was worth another attempt to add a quality lav mic to my home studio setup. The packaging and product is as advertised in the pics you see. I didn't have trouble installing the battery into the power section. The packaging is clear and separates all the parts so you're ready to use it out of the box. I tested this on my Macbook Pro using the USB attachment (I needed an adapter because this isn't USB-C), On My MB Pro using my Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 third gen (there's a 1/4 adapter included too) and on my iPhone. I can report that the sound is clear and the lav just works! It's sensitive and picks up background noise, as I could hear my heater on faintly, but it's not bad enough to detract from your audio. Worst case you can eliminate those minor sounds in post-production. The attachments allow me the versatility to use it on any camera and laptop. I didn't test in my Canon camera, but if it works on a Macbook (which also requires the Camera button to be ON to use it), then Im sure it can work for a DSLR. I tested this in Quicktime on the Mac, on the Camera and Voice Notes app on iPhone with no issue. Ditto for the Focusrite. It's great to have gain control on the audio interface so I can adjust it. The mini Camera/Smartphone power pack has a little weight, but it also has a belt buckle attachment, so think of it like a wireless lav mic receiver. it's easy to hide and shouldn't be too cumbersome. If this had a gain control option, it would probably cost more money, but it would also be even more perfect. For a lowe price, you get high-end quality sound that's serviceable enough for your Zoom calls, iPhone recordings and anything else you need to do that requires dope audio. Highly recommended. P.S. - it doesn't work if you want to send a voice note in the messages app and I didn't test for FaceTime, but those shouldn't be your primary or even secondary use case for a lav mic. If y'all want an audio test let me know and if enough request, I'll add it.

Great mic, I underestimated it because of its price.
This mic works exactly as advertised. The sound source is clear and easily distinguishable and the mic seems to be well built. I use it for Microsoft Teams meetings and the one person no one has to ask to repeat themselves is me! It also comes with a really nice wind screen. You do have to fiddle with the wind screen a bit to get it to stay on properly (for example, I twist mine while pressing down.) After that, the wind screen will stay on really tight. I love the chord length. It also comes with its own chord-tying thing so you don't have a lot of cable if you don't need it. The USB adapter comes with both a mic and headphone jack. I use my laptop's jack for the headphones though since the sound quality from the USB sound card has a lot of treble but no bass, so the sound quality isn't too good. This doesn't hinder the mic though, and I bought this for the mic. It's nice to no longer have to wear my over-the-ears headset anymore for really long Teams meetings at work! It's definitely worth the price. You don't need anything more expensive than this mic. It does the job really well. One of the features that stood out is that it has an on/off switch, so now I can mute myself without pressing mute in Teams. I prefer the hardware to control my mute status so this is a very nice plus! The mic is omnidirectional. I get the best sound with having it clipped to my shirt collar as opposed to near my chest, but I'm sure it'd do just fine if clipped there as well. The clip is strong and keeps the mic in place--and this is coming from someone who wears the mic for eight hours a day. It won't move at all once you clip it. One thing not listed as of this writing is that this mic does require a battery. I don't remember which one now, but if you do plan to use it with the USB adapter you will need a battery.

A Hot Mic at a Value
June16, 2023 just received my Movo LV1-USB Lavalier Microphone for Computer, Lapel Microphone for iPhone and Android Smartphones. For the price it's a steal---good price for a quality mic. I improved the sound by adjusting the equalizer on my desktop---what an improvement. The only complaint that I have is that it uses a battery, which is a pain to install. Other than that it is a good value. By the way, as shipped it will not work on iPhones as it contains no lightning cable or adapter------I had to buy it separately--hopefully it will work on my iphone.

Works great with Linux
This mic works great! I could actually hear how clear my voice comes through when I was playing Helldivers 2 with my friend and I could hear myself coming through his tv speakers. I also use arch linux, so if you're a linux user and looking for a good mic, this one works great with linux. Mostly plug n play. I had to make it the default in steams settings and manually select it in sound controls. But after setting those, it automatically switches to the mic when i turn it on and pair my headphones to my pc.

Started good, died after a month
This started as a good mic. Good price and was exactly what I was looking for. It was easy to hook up, and though the cord length seemed a bit excessive to me, I just bundled it up so it was out of the way. I made sure to secure all the cords and toggle so that the cord wouldn't stress, fray or twist, since I was going to be using it only at my desk and not walking around with it. And it worked pretty well at first, but after using it for a few weeks, my sound started to cut in and out randomly whenever I was on a call. It was never anything bad enough that toggling the on and off couldn't fix and I thought maybe it was a problem with my internet. Then the mic started to crackle rather horribly at random or whenever I tried to use the toggle, even though I wasn't moving at all. This was unfortunately just a few days after the month return time expired. Technology is funny like that. Changing the battery out did nothing, and I may as well have just tossed the $20 I spent on this mic out the window apparently, or at a better microphone in the first place. What a disappointing piece of junk now.

Failed to work with USB included interface and standard audio interfaces
This mic seems to not function properly in the "Camera" mode switch. It seems like a failure of the internal electronics itself. It does work fine in "smartphone" mode and with an Android Samsung Galaxy S9 plugged into the headset/headphone port. It also works fine plugged into a laptop with a headset port. When switching to the "Camera" mode with the batteries inserted no input is detected on professional quality interfaces. When I hold tightly / squeeze the battery module it produces an audible hum but the mic still does not properly pick up audio. It's too bad because the build quality of most of it seems pretty nice. The included accessories are well made. The aluminum is of high quality on the battery capsule, microphone, and microphone clip. Even the bag looks and feels nice. The only thing that seems cheaply made is the cord itself which may not last very long. It is extremely thin. Also of course the built in electronics inside the battery capsule. Perhaps there is a Q/A problem and mine is faulty. Fortunately for the cheap price and since I can still use it with my smartphone and laptop it will continue to find a use for me. Too bad I couldn't use it with my professional equipment (Presonus Studio 26c audio interface and Hercules DJ RMX Controller) or the included USB audio interface. It seems to only work properly on "headset" style interfaces and inputs.
