Bob's Red Mill Petite French Green Lentils, 24 Oz

I love lentil soup as it reminds me of my dad. He used to make large pots of it during the winter as it took him the better part of a day to chop up the ingredients and cook it on the stove, then split it into containers for the freezer as well as that evening's meal. It's a healthy soup that's filling and, with pressure cookers, it takes no time to dump in the ingredients and leave it to cook for half hour. Of course, a great benefit of making soup yourself is that you know EXACTLY what's in it! For some reason lentils can be difficult to find in the stores anymore and when you do find them, they're ridiculously expensive! I found Bob's Red Mill Lentils here on Amazon and thought I'd give them a try. Although I was "raised" on the brown ones, I've tried the red and the green as well. I like that the green ones don't turn to mush which also keeps the soup from getting "thick" like a navy bean soup, which means there's less starch in them. Another big plus is that these are organic and are provided by an employee-owned American company. How great is that?!?!

I needed lentils for a recipe. Have gone to plant based diet. First time using this product, however I recommend Bob's Red Mill for so many other items I buy. I need to use less when I make again as this got thicker than I thought should be. Will alter the recipe to accommodate the next time, but did like the taste and will for sure purchase again.

Never disappointed in Bobs Mill Products. Quality all the way always fresh. Worth the extra $$. They stay firm even after being incorporated into a dish. The cook time is no different than cooking rice. And the petite french style has a slight peppery taste to them. Have not found anything as of yet to replace Bobs Mill.

Pricey, but the best lentils. I always have these on my shelf. They're hard to find in my area, so I'm glad Amazon carries them.

I purchased these to make the NYT’s ‘brown butter lentil & sweet potato salad’ recipe & they did not disappoint! They cooked easy & still maintained a ‘bite’, when I was worried they’d dissolve into mush. They taste great & I love that they’re organic.
