Really nice field guide for quick reference. It's geared towards a person that has no to little first aid experience. I bought this to throw in a field trauma kit I was putting together for my son as he traveled the country with his thumb. He had no first aid experience at the time. This book has come in handy a few times. He's now read it several times over as he's waited for his next ride.

Book gives more info on conducting a rectal exam than on treating shock.

An extremely useful and educational and instructional title worth being in any outdoorsman's library.

wouldnt recommend this, reviews on their other books say similar things, no diagrams and although its nicely presented the information is to basic, i only bought it becuase it was pocket sized but there are other first aid and survival books with diagrams and pocket sized

For the things need to be reminded of in a situation where I could freeze or panic, this pocket guide is perfect (especially if read through in advance). Great confidence to carry along whenever outdoors.

I wasn't expecting much when I downloaded this on my Kindle, but I was expecting more than I got. Poorly organized and written, there were even spelling mistakes! I'm by no means a survival expert, but I've received moderate training in first aid and how to handle wilderness emergencies, and I can safely say there's some information in here that's outdated or just plain wrong. To add to that, a lot of wilderness basics have been quickly glanced over or omitted altogether. This is really just a poor source of information, I can't honestly recommend this to anyone, for any reason.
